AP royal oak dual time problem

Hi There,
I have just bought a used AP royal oak dual time. Model year is 2009.
The problem is even though when i self wind the watch or use it during the day, the power reserve indicator does not go up all the way. It goes up to the last section but stays in the middle of this section. So overall i would stay the power reserve indicator goes up to %80-%85 but not %100.

Anyone knows if this is normal for this model or something is wrong? For the new ones, the power reserve indicator goes up all the way but maybe for this model it is usual.

Could be the indicator needs re-positioned – have you left the watch off you wrist and timed the actual length of time it takes to stop?
If not then you should, and see if it matches or exceeds the spec.
If it’s less than spec, by 4hours or more, then as long as you’re sure the watch was fully wound, it would indicate that it’s time for a service – assuming it’s not been touched since it was assembled.

Any competent watch repairer would be able to sort out the hand position, so it doesn’t strictly have to go to AP.
Getting it timed and checking amplitude will also give an idea as to the condition the movement is in, and again suggesting it’s time for a service.

How many turns are you winding it? Where did you get it? Can you post a few pics of it?

Thank you very much for all your replies. Really appreciated.
Actually everything is working fine without an issue( minute hand, date hand, second time zone , day/night hand) but i wind the power reserve this morning again and it went up to the same level, not any more. Picture is here, maybe you guys have a better idea now;

I just spoke to APSC on the phone and he said it's normal as long as it stays anywhere in the max. level, and the hand doesn't necessarily has to be all the way up in this zone. It's still a proof that the watch is fully charged he said.
I emailed him the picture though, he will check and back to me.

Even though it may be all right, you still you ask why it doesn't go up all the way as a watch owner and tell yourself you should have bought not used but new one :)

I have a vague recollection that the early dials for these models had too wide a display arc for the power reserve indicator. I think AP modified the dial in later models so that the arc was smaller and the indicator hand went to the top of the level.

Definitely, they have changed it in the new models but the question is if this is an issue to be fixed (as a fault) by the service or this is usual and do not even need to be serviced.

I have also called the APSC and they told me that it could stand somewhere in the middle and it does not necessarily has to be up all the way. It still shows that the watch has been fully winded if it stays somewhere in the last zone. I emailed the picture and they will get back to me after looking but this is their first impression.

A grey dealer friend of mine 2 years ago told me that AP had 23% returns on the first year, don't know if he's right or not, I thought I had a problem with my ceramic diver, I was after putting it on time really off after 2 hours, between 20 and 40 sec, and was about to send them but a member here told me maybe it wasn't wound enough, I thought wearing it on the wrist 24/7 should be enough like all my previous watches but seems they wind not so easily, I'm a pretty calm guy so I don't make huge movements with my wrist, in any case I wind it every 2-3 days and it keeps good time now...

Yeah I get it, cool watch, I was almost ready to get one but the lack of clear case back stopped me, too bad as they are really nice

I guess this model does not have a clear case back because the movement is made by JLC, not AP.

Your power reserve indicator is how it is supposed to be. I have the same model and did som research when I got the watch.

If you check the section "Power Reserve" in the manual (https://audemarspiguet.picturepark.com/Go/b5kTLNuh/D), you will see a drawing of the position of the hand when the watch has full power reserve.
