Biggest regret/mistake?
I made the mistake of wasting money on high end homages just to end up getting the real thing... Chime in with your lessons learned!

As far as watches go, passing on Rolex at the AD and getting an early Raymond Weil Parsifal chrono in 1991. Nothing wrong with the watch, but would have had a classic 25 year old Rolex now. At least I was smart enough to remain a "one-watch" guy until I got my Explorer years later.

For watches? I traded my 1 yr old Sub Date ceramic for two brand new watches. Decided I missed the sub and then had to do a series of trades including spending $2k more to get a Sub date 16610. I spent more money and have the older version watch. Stupid move on my part,

Was tending bar in a high end night club in New Orleans in the eighties.. EF Hutton stock brokers would come in every day after work.. One guy for 2 weeks kept telling me to buy this stock that just came out and I kept laughing at him... (I heard stock tips and race horse tips all the time)
The stock was Microsoft... True story so yes I have a big regret about a road not taken |

In terms of watches, don't really have one. I flip too much and it's wasteful.

I just figured out that I can trade my 16610 and 16220 for a sub date ceramic but that would mean I spent even more money to get the exact same watch I already had!

I spent way too much on the "affordable" watches. I should have gone straight to the models I like - gold.

Regrets? I've had a few. But then again, too few to mention.

Sold my 1601 TT DJ to buy a Cartier Pasha. It was the 90's, what can I say?

Forrest Gump told me to buy Apple in 1994. Obviously,I'm not a genius.
Also picked a two tone Breitling over a two tone Sub about 15 years ago. |

I started way down the food chain with watches before buying my first Rolex, but like everything else in life, I have no regrets.
Regrets are the biggest waste of human energy there is. There's only one way to gain experience and that's to make a few decisions and act on them. Learn from your mistakes and move on.

In 2000 I bought 2 condo's in north Scottsdale (Kierlands) as investment property ..for golf vacations etc. 155k and 149k with options to buy 2 more. My guesswas keep them 5 years or so and if im real real lucky i may make 80k to 100k on them if i sold them. In May of 06 the first one had a bidding war and sold 20 mins after i listed it....the next month the same for the other one....If i just had bought the other two when i had the chance.

Buying a Rolex from a TRF "trusted seller", before realizing you can have them way cheaper new from AD!

Buying a Patek - it broke and took 8 months to repair. I should have stuck with Rolex.
Sometimes I regret not trying Tudor yet |

Playing football in college and not baseball. I was a left handed pitcher that was highly scouted, could have signed out of high school, but choose to play football. Probably could have had a nice career and be retired now. Although I may have never met my wife and we would not have our beautiful daughters.
As far as watches go, no regrets with anything really... |

With watches, none so far. I enjoy flipping and have lost some money on some of the flips. But it's a hobby to me, and hobbies cost money sometimes. So I'm ok with that.
Life in general, there are some regrets. But certainly none that I'd share on a forum. |

Passed on a Jumbo RO from an AD that was no longer selling the line for $4k. It was in the Bahamas about 15 years ago.
Sold 2 BNIB PP Nautilus 3710 for $11k 12 years ago. Sold GMT 16710 BNIB from as AD for list for a Ceramic one. Didn't sell Panerai "Fiddy" when they're 20k. Bought and returned (from eBay) a 1675 with box/papers for $4k. And a 5512 in excellent condition also for $4k 9 years ago as well as a Red 1680 for $5k! Regrets? Definitely!! |

I don't know about this. I went through a SS and TT journey before getting my Smurf. I don't think I would have appreciated it as much if I went straight to PM. Maybe?? If I did it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing.

Watch Wise? No Regratz.
Life - Not having finished college. While I am kicking butt and doing big things, I can't imagine where I'd be with a fancy degree.
