A tip to get around this forum FAST !!

Hi guys,

Most of you might know this, but to those who don't, there is a real quick to get around this forum and read all the posts that you haven't read. You will thus be able to save time and throw in more posts of your own.

Instead of clicking on the The Rolex Forums and then trying to catch up on each new thread TOPIC wise, just click on New Posts right above you on the blue band. A long list will show up. The ones in BOLD are the ones you still haven't read. Once you've read it, that thread will "lighten" up and you can then move on to the next one.

This way, you will be able to catch up on all the unread posts much faster.

Cheers - JJ

Thank you for that brilliant insight, JJ. You have a fantastic gift for the obvious.

You finally figured out what some of us have known for a long time now.

Must be a slow day. Now get off to work, will you. I'm sure Zemina will be happier when you're out of the house and not caressing one of your watches or trying to decide which one to flip.

Ed,

I've been following that system from day one. But you'd be surprised how many guys still don't know about that quick and easy way.

I'll take your word for it. I guess I just think if I know how to do something, everyone else does, too. Not a great way for a teacher to think.

Really JJ, I thought that new post button was to submit new post. NOT
What ticks me off is , that if you leave the site, then come back BEFORE reading all the new posts, they are gone the next time you come back
I think the Mod's are tricking us to stay & real them all

That was happening to me too, John. Now if I actually log off, and not just X out of the screen they still show as unread.

Happened to me several times. If I minimise this forum and go onto WWF and if I'm there for a long time, I get logged off this one by the time I get back!! Which also means I've lost all my unread posts and have to start all over again.

Dman tip #3, if you wanted to ask Biff (or any member here) a private question, you could always just use the PM function, located at the top of the screen.

Okay, I've got a confession to make. This thread is partly, if not mostly, my fault. A couple of days ago JJ called me to see what was taking me so long to reply to a thread in the open forum. After I told him that I had just logged on and it took me a while to work my way though the threads, starting at the top in the Rolex forum. He told me about the mark forums read thing.

I explained that when I sign on, any thread with a new post shows up green, even if I have read it and posted in it. When I would click out of a thread and went back to the forum page any thread with a post added while I was posting would show up green. Going through them all took me a while. I told you before, I'm a little slow, thats why I still take the short bus to work

If I click the mark forums read thing, all of the forums go red even if there is a post I haven't seen yet. Anyway, I guess I made it sound as though I didn't know what it was for and he figured that if I was dumb enough not to know that, some other new guys may not know either.

So there it is. I'm the dummy, the culprit and the reason for the thread. You've broken me. The pressure was to much, I cracked.

Ahh, I feel so much better now. Okay, anyone for sushi?

Weird. All of the topics and text are in black on my screen. Even in a drop down. Are you color blind Craig?

Now what bloody red and green lights are we talking about?

If you mean that little green thingy just below your name, that means you're logged on. If it's red then you're logged off. Am I right, guys, or is there more confusion to this Sherlock Holmes forum?
