The New Hodinkee Shop

What's everyone's thought on the new Hodinkee Shop or its new approach?

Selling/Buying watches definitely seems interesting at least for vintage pieces.
I tend to like the transparent approach they are taking about selling something that is honest.

I think they have built up a large enough following where the vintage watch shop will do very well. I went on for a second time this afternoon and a large number of the vintage pieces have sold including the Daytona.

A lot of us saw it coming, when they did the limited edition MB&F you knew it would be sooner than later. Good for them. What concerns me is if they receive a vintage "something" then do a puff piece on it and sell it for more $$$.

A bit florid in the actual descriptions - but to be expected. I'd say some of our trusted sellers here do better in just stating the facts.

Hmmm...they just sold a 1989 Sub 5513 for $8,000.

"This later version is desirable because it is the transitional model between the 5513 and the 14060."

Interesting.

Might as well capitalize on the market they fiddle with
