No lug shaving on the Submariners announced at Basel then?

Nah? Didn't think so.....

Not the type of company to listen to the 'majority' of their customers are they.
I get that some like them, but the majority, including people who bought them anyway would still prefer a not so boxy version. Just sayin'

Why would they change a more sporty, masculine and rugged look that also happens to by more true to the original design to something more akin to the DJ case/lugs?

Look, I know it will never happen, and the post was somewhat tongue in cheek...

True to the original, so the original Sub was more boxy looking than the previous one?
No, not the DJ, just the previous Sub #14060, with the same maxi, would be nice.... Something that's just not as big as a Planet Ocean, whereas now size wise it's on a par visually.

Why mess with perfection? I like the sub the way it's.

What about the updated Explorer and new Daytona :) That's definitely Rolex listening to their customers.

The aquaduct. Great movie! Laughing as I recall this scene.

Majority of their customers? I hate to break it to you but this passionate WIS community isn't even a tiny fraction of their customer base. And even then lots of us here like the new cases. I prefer them. I don't see smaller cases any time soon for the sports models.

You'll just have to buy a Sea Dweller instead

I've had the Ceramic ND Sub and lost interest in it very quickly. Figured it was the all too common black (and the too sterile dial) so I went to a 116610LV and while that was fun for a while, I just could not stand the fatter/wider lugs but loved the green dial and bezel. I miss the more slender lugs and the bevels of their predecessors. Traded the modern Subs for a 16710 GMT2 and 16610LV and life is perfect.

Good thing they did not increase the size of the updated Daytona as I am keen on one of those.

Yeh, but apart from that, the updated Explorer and the new Daytona, what else have the Rolex ever done for us?

I get that!

Mind you, gt's SD does look very enticing. Plus Omega have revealed some very strange looking coloured pieces today, complete with very thick cases, so I won't moan too much.
