My Irish friend just gave me hell over this mistake. It's actually "Paddy's Day" not Patty.

Here ya go...

Otherwise, huge congrats on a much much better mistake ;)

"Paddy is derived from the Irish, Pádraig: the source of those mysterious, emerald double-Ds. Patty is the diminutive of Patricia, or a burger, and just not something you call a fella. There isn't a sinner in Ireland that would refer to a Patrick as “Patty”. It's as simple as that."

Spot on.

Pat is also an acceptable abbreviation of Patrick or Patricia. However, no one should ever, ever, ever, no way, not in a million years, refer to a man (Patrick or Padraig) as 'Patty'.

You beat me to it! It's also a derogatory term (I know you didn't mean it as such).

If buying that watch is a mistake, who would ever want to be right? Beautiful! Enjoy wearing.
