It's been almost 11 months
It's been almost 11 months and I couldn't be happier with my 216570BD. In the beginning, I wanted to go vintage, but instead opted for new because it was my first high end automatic and I wanted to start the watches story. I'm glad I did, it's so fun to think back at all the memories I've had with this watch over the year. Secondly, I had always preferred a black bezel over steel. Now it's the other way around and surprising after the release of the new black bezel Daytona, I find myself leaning towards the current steel bezel models. Weird I know, this is something I never thought would be possible. Originally I wanted a Sub, but instead went with my gut and choose something different that I wasn't going to see daily and with a black dial this is watch is particularly under the radar. Just how I like it. But what about the color? Traditionally I shied away from color, now I see the orange 24hr hand as the perfect amount of character and style. Lastly, I'm not saying 42mm is perfect size but at this point, 40mm feels too small for this watches intended purpose. The EXP II face is super easy to read and the watch feels remarkably comfortable and robust. Now with such an incredible showing at Baselworld this year, you would think that I would wish for something else but, this is not the case. 11 months ago I bought the perfect watch and it goes to show that with enough scrutiny you can find a watch that will fit your needs and align with the idea of having one watch to do it all. |
