Trouble in New York. Please help.

In NYC walking to get some lunch when I noticed my watch felt loose. Before I had time to react it fell from my wrist and smacked the hard pavement.

The pin that connects the clasp to the bracelet had come out. Not only is the pin missing but I also have a major goober where the watch hit the ground. Luckily, I am in NYC and my hotel is a block away from Rolex NYC. My question is 1.) will they replace the pin for me on the spot and 2.) do you think they can buff out the damage at least a little? If so will they charge me? Thanks in advance! Everyone check your pins and screws!

The pin sounds like an easy fix. The impact area...not so much. That may have to be laser welded...but it ain't gonna buff out. I wish you well with this. Luckily, you are close to the RSC so they should be able to guide you in the process.

ouch...that looks like laser weld and RSC will prob recommend movement service and possibly new case...

I damaged the case on my DJ in the same place when it fell to the pavement from about five feet.

If you're going to ding a case that's the best place to do it.

I left mine as it is and it's simply not an issue anymore.

I would think that the RSC would replace the pin on the spot.

Sorry to see this. I can't speak with regards to pricing and what they will or will not do. I do agree with your thought of just a little polish mainly to get rid of what appear to be rough edges where it will come in contact with your wrist.
It's not pretty but I think the picture makes it appear even worse and deeper than it really is. Hopefully a little love and you can live with the imperfection.
It's (mostly) under the case on the 9 o'clock side so won't be noticeable much no matter what you decide to do. Good luck!

wow that is terrible. if the watch is still running i would send it to RSC though just to check it out. then they can advise on how much to fix that dent if you so desire.

RSC will fix the PIN but the case will not be fixed on the spot.

You will need to have laser welding done and refinished. You're looking at about $400 for the laser welding and refinishing. RSC will likely decline to do it.

I would go with one of the recommended watchmakers here.

Rotten luck. Pin won't be an issue as others have said and should be readily available on the spot. For the case, I would just buff out the rough spots and keep it for now. It's on the underside so not that visible.

The pin is easy. Case needs laser welded. Send it to Rikki. He laser welded my case and it looked perfect.

You should go to NYC Rolex they will inspect it while you wait and let you know what they suggest to do. You can either leave it or take it back.

That's for sure a laser weld job. You don't want to polish that down because you would need to remove too much metal. Shouldn't be too expensive regardless.

Ouch!! I would think for sure they can get you a pin (although they may want to inspect the rest of it to make sure there isn't anything else in danger of coming loose). As for the damage.. yeah that looks pretty extensive and as others state may require laser welding if you want it fixed (which I doubt RSC does.. they'd probably just replace the entire case?). Sorry to hear about your watch :(
