Watch case / box?

Hi All,

I'm new to TRF and need advice. I have 5 watches currently and hope to add a Tudor Black Bay this summer. I'm a bit embarrassed to say that I've never purchased a proper case / box to store my watches.

Any advice on brand or vendor would be greatly appreciated.

I've actually owned several watch boxes, from el-cheapo, to 'fancy' wood, carbon fiber, etc... Now, admittedly, there are some pretty special 'esoteric' super-luxury exotic-wood/material boxes out there (frankly, I'd rather spend that kind of money on more watches the fill the box) - but in the 'realistically priced' world the absolute best I've found (and have been using for over ten years now) is this one... it's really fantastic, looks and feels like it should easily cost several times it's ridiculously low $159 pricetag.

I couldn't be more pleased - love it as much today as the day it arrived.

good point raised above re buying a winder v a box. I currently own 1 rolex and a few other cheaper watches. As the rolex is a daily wearer I have not thought about a winder. But with the Daytona 500 coming in Sept / Oct I was thinking of the rotation and the need for a winder. But if I rotate daily I guess they will be wound enough and have a day to relax in a box?

Looks great - can I ask: how squishy are the pillows? I have small wrists and have a problem where most pillows won't comfortably compress enough to close the clasp...

For those of you with up to 6 watches, have you also invested into a watch winder?

Consider a crush proof/water proof case such as those made from Pelican Cases. Some of them are strong enough to withstand an SUV driving over the case, but leaving all watches inside unharmed.

As for watchwinders, i did a bit of research a year or so ago and my understanding is that theyre a bit of a gimmick and unnecessary (and in some circumstances, potentially damaging to your watch).
