Notebook gone south

My notebook took a spill yesterday!
It is 2 1/2 years old Dell 11" screen.

Will need a new 1o-12 " notebook
No gaming, some tunes, no engineering programs.

Primarily college type requirements.
Approx $1000 expenditure preferred.

Your suggestions here......

I've got an 18 month old Fujitsu P7010 Lifebook.
1.1 G Pentium
500 Meg RAM
40G Storage
11" screen
Internal Wifi
SD and Flash memory Ports
2 USB ports
Serial port
Modem
Ethernet
IEEE1394 port
RWCD/DVD drive (internal)
stereo speakers
mic/headphone ports
Wt. 3.5 lbs.

Runs well. I just traded up to the P8010 so this one will just sit around if it doesn't go to a good home.

PM me if you are interested.

Macbook. $1000 on newegg or the education discount on apple. RAM upgrade is cheap and you can easily dual boot Windows if you have to.

X2, I bought a 17" Macbook Pro a few months ago and swore-off anything PC forever. The new Macbooks are a great value, especially if one needs reliability, functionality and productivity. I regret not going Apple a long time ago...
