Serial numbers should be easy to find on the internet. If you're looking for a '75ish Sub, this should be the serial number range:
4004200 .........................1974 4267100 .........................1975 4538000 .........................1976 |

You know, it's nice to have a vintage watch. Especially if you identify with the year 1975..
However, there are a lot of things to look for to ensure that you are getting the real deal, and to ensure it is period correct for the price you pay. A 35 year old Sub is likely to cost you as much or more than a brand new one that you can enjoy for many, many years trouble free...

The reason I want a 1975 model is because it is my birth year. I want to start a tradition in my family to get a Sub for each member of my family and family to come.
That's the only reason I want one from 1975. So if anyone hears about someone that has one and wants to unload it for a FAIR price then let me know! Thanks! Marcos |

I bought my 73 Sub w/Date from an AD, and I love it. It came w/box and papers and looks cool and has a lot of history to it. No matter what Sub you get, you can't go wrong....that watch is awesome.

Always have it authenticated first. Meet at RSC if you can or at least at AD with trained watchmaker. If it comes from a store, put it in writing that you can return it after x number of days and have it authenticated ASAP. Good luck
