Beautiful pic Ben - I'm not that interested in the 42s and 44s, but if I ever got a larger size AP it would be that watch - you're such an enabler!!

The finishing is beautiful when reflecting light.
The finishing looks best on stainless steel follow by black ceramic then white ceramic. The beautiful finishing is not visible on white ceramic due to almost no reflection off white ceramic. |

Looks more like a sculpture than a watch, just insane marquetry.

Fabulous. Sometimes I just can't keep myself from admiring all the angles, polishes and numerous geometric shapes visible on my 15300. Truly a piece of wearable art.

How scratch proof is the ceramic on that beauty?

Very unlikely you will scratch it Brett but chipping is possible along the crisp edges of the bezel. By all accounts it can be worn just like a rolex but if you do really give it a serious knock the recourse is more expensive.
When I had mine I didn't have any issues and I took it everywhere |

Mine didn't scratch but something happened at a place it shouldn't and without any shock, it was sent to AP Le Brassus, mightq be that the case cracked, will know more later, in any case for me it is a defect as not a single shock happened on it...

Real beauty
With all due respect it's hard to capture the real beauty of the finishing in a photograph however good it is.
Handle an AP yourself and as you slowly turn it round you begin to see how the light plays of the different surfaces and how that detail of design was all intentional, not accidental. Som watch enthusiasts don't "get" AP simply because they've never had the opportunity to handle one. It's a shame as getting one in your hands makes a huge difference in appreciation. |
