Freemason Rolex Oyster Perpetual Reference 6564 Caliber 1030
Hey everyone! Long time listener, first time caller.
I've encountered a very interesting Oyster Perpetual, and after a cursory scouring of the internet, I've come up blank. Does anyone have any tidbits they could share on this puppy, or an idea of value? The caseback reads 6565 struck-out by the factory, with 6564 stamped underneath, which I do not believe was an uncommon occurence. Now shown in the pictures is the original riveted flex band, if that information is of any help. Any ideas? Happy Friday! |

I think it has a certain charm. I love the 1030 movement.

I've never seen a Masonic dial like that in my life, and I have numerous Masonic dialed watches. The markers will usually be the working tools, and sometimes there will be the square and compasses in the center with the letter "G."

I haven't had any luck finding a similar dial, either. I haven't been able to find any details on the Masonic symbol on the left of the dial.

I have seen other watches with masonic symbols but not a Rolex.
The symbols are well known: the square and compass is their logo. Has many variations, this one has the sun in the middle.

the 128 in the triangle is probably the lodge number.

Possibly. The other symbol is a Past Masters emblem. I once saw a DayDate on e-bay with some sort of Masonic Dial, asking price like $13,000!!!! I don't know if Rolex ever made a Masonic dial, I would doubt it.

I am guessing that a jeweler added the masonic symbols, then put a shellac or lacquer over the whole dial.
The shellac then peeling off and causing the damage to the dial. |

Looking at the photo on my computer instead of the phone, I think that it is just the shellac that is peeling off, the paint appears to still be all there.
You might be able to brush the loose shellac off. |

That's a nice interesting masonic watch.
If no special connection to you, may be worth contacting the secretary of 128 lodge, as described earlier, as someone may be interested in it! Just a thought. |
