Rolex Masterpiece

Are these still in current production?

I notice the Pearlmaster on the Rolex site but no Masterpieces.

I always rather wanted one and did get a white gold masterpiece for my gf, but I ended up with a series of platinum Day Dates instead, up until my current 40mm.

My guess would be if you have the money Rolex will sell you one. Guessing they are special order only. But for all i know they could be discontinued. Hopefully someome else can be of more help :)

The lady's one I bought from the AD in 2009. It was a white gold lady's Masterpiece with diamonds in the bezel. The lady's Masterpieces are (were) available only in gold, not platinum. At that time I was seeing men's Masterpieces at the high end AD, but I don't believe I have seen any lately.

This exact combination has been worn with a red NY baseball cap and Chinos for a decade (Fred Durst). I think I am fine with Jeans

Rolex Masterpiece

So would my wife.
But a Masterpiece out for a quick frankfurter at a beachside cafe in St Tropez might work.

Excuse my ignorance but is a masterpiece a specific model? or is it a masterful day date?

It is a model, MP 18946. Just not too common.

I just purchased this master piece, in PT and was told it had been out of production for at least two years. This one has the baguette diamonds instead of the rounds. And yes I have been wearing it with jeans.

Of course that works with jeans. It tones it down a little. Can't imagine it looking better than dressed down.

Right, there are a few different configurations, but the common thread is the very polished bracelet. I saw a platinum men's one with diamonds all over the bezel, the bracelet, everywhere, chanel set baguettes it was nutso. I couldn't take it off my wrist. The AD was willing to sell it to me for $150K and he said that the retail on it was $250K but someone had put a large deposit on it for a special order and either walked away or returned it (it wasn't clear which) which is why he could afford to sell it for less. This was in 2009. I believe it was the 18956. Having just spent about $42K on the lady's masterpiece that year I didn't have the extra money to buy such a watch.

That particular salesman at that AD doesn't work there anymore, and every time I have come back and spoken to other salespeople at that AD they have refuted the story, saying they would never sell a brand new Rolex below full retail, but that was the offer price, that day. Maybe because it was a return it was considered no longer new, I don't know.

Here's one that looks similar to what he showed me that day
https://watchchest.com/rolex-day-dat...tte-18956.html

Anyway that answers my question, thanks, that the Masterpiece is out of production. I assume the movement in it is the older day date movement, the caliber 3155.

They have one for sale on the Crown and Caliber site. Looks like a blinged out DD to me.
