Largest AP vintage collection

I don't know if this is old news, but I just read a Hodinkee article saying 89 vintage AP watches from the personal collection of Marcus was purchased by AP and headed to the AP museum.

http://www.hodinkee.com/articles/the...udemars-piguet

Some of you may know that Marcus has a large AP dealership on Bond Street in London and is also well connected in the watch industry.

I have a book from the Marcus AP exhibit back in 2012 and some of these vintage pieces are nothing like their current Royal Oak collection AP is now better known for. If anyone is interested in this book with the vintage AP watches, it can be downloaded from the Marcus website.

Well he didn't exactly give it, in fact since he wanted the buyer to take the whole collection at once, the only logical buyer was AP. Wonder if we're gonna see vintage AP's one day get close to the prices of vintage PP's

Black and White very nice,

Red and black and RG and Red should be burned and never shown again. Not saying if i got it for free i wouldn't rock it.

He has a bunch of special additions made of him APs and RMs all with the black and red theme. I guess that probably his boutique colors.

Yes, Marcus loves red, which seems like its his signature color!

I had a very bad experience trying to negotiate with this AD in London. The sales person there was 'the' most arrogant seller I have ever dealt with in a watch store, ever. I dont know if that was the standard treatment for 'unknown' potential customers, but I was really shocked by his attitude, especially comparing to how nicely I was treated everywhere else during my quick stay in London (having visited several watch boutiques).
