Panerai Date Window

Hi,

Have had my PAM 359 for 4 years now. Don't wear it a crazy amount thought. Maybe once every two weeks. I noticed yesterday that the date window doesn't flick to the next date. It starts rotating slowly around the 11 o'clock mark. This model has the Panerai in-house movement.

Not sure if this is normal. I never thought it was weird until i started wearing my rolexes. That the date window snap into the next date at the 12 o'clock time mark.

Should i be worried or is this right?

Thank you

Yup, my 312 does exactly the same thing, it's normal. Nothing to worry about.

Ok, good. Kind of find it somewhat odd. Why would they create the movement like that. Rolexes snap date window seems a lot more efficient. Specially when its between dates and its hard to read the date.

I think maybe the slow date change uses less energy than a quick change as it's a gradual process....just a thought.

Slow date change is a traditional thing in swiss watchmaking history, that's why they use that type of date changing system.. That's what the Boutique manager told me..
