Just bougt Rolex and already want 2nd watch

I just recently bought TT DJII with diamond dial and I am really very happy and proud with that watch. However, due to constant reading of TRF i feel that i really want another watch

My current watch is very classical one, flashy, fits very well with suit, which i wear 5 days a week. Now I need daily beater / sports watch.

I just tried on my writs Sub (no date) and felt that definitely I do not want it. General feeling that this is not my watch and does not look good on my wrist.

Then I tried SS/Platinum YM with blue dial - I felt in love with this watch. Very nice, classy, sporty. However, i am still thinking about SS Daytona as well. Well i look and YM price it seems that the better deal is to add few thousands dollars and get SS Daytona, which keeps value better.

After these considerations, seller suggested me to try Omega Seamaster, which I put the wrist and could not let it go I think that it a really beautiful and quality divers watch (i am not big fan of divers watches but this beauty really attracted my attention).

So, now I am in big considerations what to do: To buy "daily beater" Omega Seamaster or buy SS / Platinum YM or SS Daytona..... any suggestions or thoughts?

Since you don't like the sub go for the YM. In my opinion the Omega will not sctrach the itch for a sports watch.

Both the Daytona & Yachtmaster are awesome pieces in their own right. However I wouldn't be purchasing either with the intent of daily usage/beater. As they're quite prone to scratching (polished centre links, metal bezel). You mentioned that you didn't like the way that the Sub sat on the wrist. Have you tried on the Seadweller? It wears very differently to the sub & works well as a daily beater. Just my 2 cents hope it's helped.

Stop right there. Don't buy anything yet. Just continue reading this forum and keep your cash in the wallet. I can guarantee you that if you buy the Seamster now, whilst your mind is not really made up, you will immediately wish you had bought the Daytona and vice versa, if you buy the Daytona, you will wish you had bought the Yachtmaster, etc. etc. Buyers remorse will hit you hard if you buy without conviction.

So take a step back, continue reading this forum, and if after a month or three you still want a specific watch, then go buy it.

That Omega is a proper diver with the correct bezel graduations.
Nice.

But it's not a Rolex.

I would consider the new ceramic Sea Dweller.

I like the Omega Seamaster you tried on but have always secretly hankered after this one. Good luck.

Hold off until 100%

All those who say the seamaster not a Rolex - it's still a great watch. I've a sub & 2 sea dwellers but still wear my smp most days as my daily wearer.

Absolutely the above. I've been there, many of us have. Slow it down, try on more watches. In the end get what really sings to YOU. That will be the one.

I really like the dial of the Omega, but I also really dislike the bracelet.

Out of the ones you tried on I would go with the YM Blue...it's stunning in person.

If you hanker omega, go planet ocean. The 2200.50 is a lovely daily and dive/sporty number. You can even get the orange bezel one of you want a splash of color.
Daytona and YM are not a beater, they are really nice special pieces.
I think the SubC will grow on you, especially the non date model.
I bet you try it on again and it won't feel the same as when you did recently.

Or have you looked at Tudor?
The black bay black is very nice, and you have the possibility of picking up 2 different ones if your dealer has one of the limited production run ones that have a slightly different dial text.
I picked this up recently at a very good price! Go take a look in person at the Tudors.

In your post, something stood out to me, "Well i look and YM price it seems that the better deal is to add few thousands dollars and get SS Daytona, which keeps value better."
If resale value was a differentiator between YM and Daytona, then you will be disappointed with the future value of the Omega.
Modern Omega watches generally don't hold value as well as Rolex.

This.

And if you still want the Omega, make sure you buy right if you are concerned about resale value.

You shouldn't pay retail for the yachtmaster, they weren't big sellers and you should be able to negotiate a reasonable discount and you need to factor that into your equation. It's unlikely you'll get a discount on a Daytona so the difference between the two is greater than you think.

YM might be too dressy for a daily beater. Omega will not keep you from wanting another sports watch as you want another Rolex. Look at ExplorerIi, great watch for what you want. Even the Explorer. My guess is you like the size of the Omega, so look at Deep Sea Sea Dweller too... Much more expensive (if that's matters) but you'll get the heft of the Omega in the brand you really want.

Nothing wrong with the Omega, if it sings to you then go for it. My first automatic was an omega Sea master, but not the chronograph. I've had it nearly 18 years.

I would pause. You are telling us you are looking for a sport watch (I wouldn't consider any of these pieces "beaters"). Your eye was drawn to the Yachtmaster and you didn't feel as fond of the Submariner. It seems by default you like watches that are more on the flashy side. I would toss the Omega aside. Nothing against Omega but it isn't in the league of the other two pieces you are considering. I think a little reflection and you will come to this conclusion as well. I think the Yachtmaster would pair well with what you already have. It certainly is a sport watch but I think there are other Rolex models that might draw a nicer contrast to your Datejust. I'd pick something black dial, perhaps a GMT-Master II or the Daytona you suggested.
