15400 Blue

Hello everyone,

I have officially started the hunt for the 15400 blue dial. I have been calling around the boutiques in Europe and I have some questions about the watch.

I have never really worn a 15400, it will be my daily watch so its very important to me that the watch is comfortable and reliable. For those who own the watch, is the watch comfortable enough to be a daily wearer? Any reliability issues? How does it compare to a daytona if you owned both?

I have been quoted 17800 euros and was asked for a 25% deposit. Is this normal? Should I ask for a discount? How much discount should I ask for?

Any comments about 15400 or the in-house caliber 3120? Can an update be expected in the near future?

Any other advice about the watch or the purchase is appreciated.

I bought mine off this forum for dramatically less. Almost 30% off that price.

I'd say to talk to davidsw or another reputable seller and see if they can source one for you.

Mine was in perfect condition with box and papers.

Great choice on a piece. You won't be disappointed.

The watch is perfect. I own a black dial and I am in love with it. It is very reliable and accurate, but hairline scratches form very easily. I am hyper sensitive about being careful with it, and I have still developed some on the band. I can't recommend for everyday use (wear it as much as you want) but you might want to find an additional watch to wear when you don't want to risk it. Enjoy!

I wear mine every day, couldn't be happier with it. A couple of tiny scratches in six months so far, but they're *my* scratches!

For this particular watch I would source it via a seller here like David or thanh. Or anyone you trust. Reason being is LNIB examples can be had for 4000 usd less than what you are being quoted and the watch is somewhat tricky to source at a discount given its "boutique" status.

With that out of the way, 15400 is a great watch. Comfortable and totally prepared for daily wear provided you aren't overly ocd about wear. Royal oaks don't scratch any more than daytonas but for some, the wear against the beautiful finishing of a royal oak is too much to bear!

Congrats! I have a blue 15400 and had a Daytona. 15400 is a nicer watch, although Daytona is probably easier to beat around. I have the new Daytona-C on order.

Owned both the 15400 and 116520 in the past.

Both can be lerfect daily wearers, reliability and comfort I think are similar. Might be easier to geta good fit onthe Daytona as the Royal Oak has no microadjustments nor easy link.

I had to get a 1.5 link to get a good fit.

The 15400 is the better watch in my mind.

I wonder what percentage of people who post on here about " should I buy this AP?" make the purchase?

Gotta be close to 100%.

We are all enablers.

I have a 15400 in rose gold and a Submariner in yellow gold. They're both comfortable, however when I wear the 15400 I'm aware that I'm wearing it all the time, whereas with the Submariner it's so comfortable that I forget I'm wearing it. Perhaps it suits the shape of my wrist better?

Highly unlikely you will get a discount on blue face. Maybe 10-20% on black or white, maybe a little more from the grey market. Get the blue, stunning and comfortable watch. It's wearability however depends on your own circumstances. If you wear to enjoy (as one should) and don't worry about scratches and the like it's an all day every day option

I'm sure you've gone through this option, but make sure you mention or check the boutique if they participate in the global blue or tax free program. If you're not an EU citizen or don't have residency here, you can get almost 20% back

This thread is dangerous for my wallet. I'm between a 15300/15400 and a DD40 as my next piece
