How does your Rolex sleep?

There seems to be no "wrong way" to put your Rolex down for the night. I am just wondering how everyone does it. I have been sleeping with mine on and I seem to lose 2 seconds a day. which I know is fairly normal.

My Explorer sleeps facing up to gain back at least 2 seconds (it tends to lose 1/2 seconds during the day when I'm wearing it) - Below are old ROLEX recommendations, including "simple regulating" tips

Same as I do all day. Snug. I feel naked without a watch on my wrist.

On my dresser at the end of the day before bed, often face up, sometimes face down. No real reason for which one. Then it's either back on the wrist in the morning, or onto a winder when I take something else out to wear.

I've been "positional regulating" lately so either dial up or crown up depending if I need to loose or gain time. Dial up gains about .75 seconds overnight and crown up looses about the same amount of time. I've gove over 100 days doing this and at the end my Sub was off by an entire second. Here's a current Watchtracker screenshot, 20 days and off by .3 seconds.

I might have to get that app. Looks good. I need to gain a couple seconds so I think I will lay it face up tonight.

Tim, is this for a modern Rolex or a 4 or 5 digit? I've heard that position doesn’t make a difference for modern Rolex..... just curious.

This works for my 5513, but doesn't seem to make much of a difference on my DJ2 or Deep Blue. Just curious what your experience is.

Brian, it's my 14060M, about 3 1/2 years old. It's never been out much more than 3/4 second per day no matter what resting position it's in.

For me it works best with four-digit Rolex or any ETA (old or new), Brian. This is why I like ETA movements, I can go for months on end without re-setting my THC or BB, and keep them within a couple of seconds or so of perfect time.

Not very well, sometimes I have to sing and gently rock it to make it drowsy. When that doesn't work, Unisom does the trick.

If it runs a little fast, crown down. A little slow, crown up.

Forgive my ignorance. But crown up would be with watch on its back. Correct? If I wanted to gain seconds.

How does your Rolex sleep?

It doesn't, it runs 24 Hr's a day.
