Suggestions on glide lock clasp - Advice needed
Good evening, folks -
I have a question relating to the glide lock clasp on my TT Submariner. I picked up two new Rolexes at a Rolex Boutique just today (one for me, the other for my wife). My watch seemed to have fit perfectly without the need to have any links removed. I noticed later that the glide lock setting is about at it's very lowest/tightest. So I doesn't have much (if any) room to make the band tighter if ever deemed necessary. The above said, would it be recommended to have the watch fitted to where the bracelet rested toward the middle setting of the glide lock so that there were equal distance to adjust in either direction? Thus, having a link removed? I realize this may be a strange question. But just wanted to solicit the advice of those far more learned in this particular realm than myself. Appreciate any input. Thank you. |

I had my AD fit mine in the middle, but the reality is that I will never need, or be able to, tighten the glidelock that tight and get it on my wrist. I am going to have them add a half link so I can still tighten it a few notches when I jog, but also get the full ability to loosen it for when I dive.

Why don't you wait to remove the link when/if you need to?

I guess I'm just not used to wearing this type of watch and unsure just yet on how I'll wear it; snug, loose, etc.

I'd rather have a link taken out so that I can take advantage of micro adjustments with the glidelock. Otherwise, all that design and technology is kind of pointless.

Taking a link out takes no longer than 5 minutes and is an easy task. Set it in the center of the glide lock so you have more adjustment.
