16710 Bezel Change Success!!

Hey everyone just had to share my very nerve racking first bezel change on my 16710 GMT II. I bought the new Pepsi bezel from nch209 and was going to take it to my Ad. I have read from members on how easy it can be so I said what the heck. There is plenty of resources on this forum and thats what i used a pictorial and a video and dived in. Everything was going perfect until the click spring came out of its slot on the dial. WTH!!! I didn't know how it went back in so there I go researching and found some pics of how it sits and thats all it took!! Success!! Thanks to everyone who posts and help make this forum a wealth of knowledge. I have had my watch for 17 years and seeing the Pepsi on there gives it a great new look!

Looks great! The GMT and ExpII have both peaked my interest as of late.

They are nice. I will add a Ceramic to the mix but I don't think I'll ever get rid of this one.

Awesome! Do you have an extra link you can add? I'm a little worried about your circulation. Seriously, though, I'm glad you decided to try it yourself and also posted your testimonial afterward. It seems so many people are scared to attempt the switch themselves, but it really is easy. AND, it gets even easier with each time you do it. Hopefully, your thread will give some other folks the needed confidence to change it up themselves, rather than seek out a watchmaker or wait until service for the RSC to do it for them. Owning the full range of inserts and being able to change them out in a matter of a few minutes is part of the fun of owning the 16710.

Just saw your post. I grabbed the other pepsi bezel from him for my U series GMT to give it a new look after 18 years of having its original black bezel and just finished the swap. Couldn't believe the gunk under the bezel. It sure turns easy now and looks fantastic. Took less than 10 minutes.

I do have an extra link on there, lol. The fit is perfect not tight and not loose, full range of motion is there. Thanks everyone for the well wishes. Gonna buy the other two and enjoy swapping the bezels and changing the look! This forum made it possible.

I changed mine out tonight in under 60 seconds, start to finish. With the right tools, it's very easy.

I am going to into London next week and will give mine a change from pepsi to coke. Very excited as then I will have all 3 inserts to play on my own.

Nice, I replaced mine a few months back, very nerve racking experience the first time, but once you do it once it seems easy after you get through it.

Looks great!

When I changed my bezel not only did the spring come out, I lost it. At some point I'll replace it but for now no click for me!

Yes, first one take your time. About 45 minutes for my fist. I guarantee the next time it's 5.

blue lion, easy fix and not expensive, $10-$30 for the piece, and if not comfortable have a watchmaker do it. Get the click back.
