Seriously Unbelievable

Some of you might remember. Back surgery. Two weeks ago.

Was healing pretty good.

Went to doctor and he cleared me very moderate movement. Driving, sit at my desk. Etc. I was doing it anyway, but was officially cleared yesterday. No bending, lifting or all that for 6 weeks. But again. Making progress.

And today, driving to a meeting on the garden state parkway, I slammed on my breaks as the car in front of me did the same.

They guy behind me didn't. And I'm now back in the ER. Car totaled.

Seriously unbelievable.

You're posting from the ER?!

Hope you get better.

Wow, first on TRF from ER--last thing I'd be thinking about.

Wow! That's horrible.

I was rear-ended once at a stop light.

It wasn't pleasant, but fortunately, I didn't need medical care.

I'd just started a new job here in Albuquerque and was afraid to take time off, as I was still on probation.

I hope you will recover well in both matters.

Yeah. I'm ultimately fine. Mostly just precaution. They are warning me for pain tomorrow and want a new MRI.

But for the most part, just a jarring, shocking incident.

I was in a beefy Ford F-150. It literally saved the day.

Do you know what the wait times in the ER are like? Nothing but boring.

That's probably true.

I assumed you were IN the ER not waiting.

Wow. Why I like driving SUV now, can certainly save your life no doubt.

Wow Seth. What luck! Sorry to hear about this. The most important thing is that you are ok. The second most important thing is that you were not driving your GT350. :)

Get well soon.

That is unbelievable. Glad you are ok and also glad the GT350 was not involved. Exactly why I like driving a pickup truck all over.

Man, that blows. Best wishes and here's to a speedy recovery, Seth!

Just curious - if you were in an F-150 and got rear ended resulting in a total loss... what exactly piled into you?

Criminy!! Seth my brotha get well soon! Maybe go to the temple and say or have a prayer of protection around you.

That would be the way here in Japan with a string of bad luck hits. Literally. Wishing you the best!

Guys. Thanks. Not gonna lie, feeling relatively depressed right now. I tend to be super optimistic all the time. But it has been a tough month.

At the same time, I actually kinda feel outrageously lucky.

I mean, I've had some rotten luck, but ultimately, I'm well. I don't think this did any damage to my back and based on how hard I got hit, that's saying something.

In some ways, I'm thinking this isn't rotten luck at all. I'm thinking I'm super lucky as it could have all have been so much worse.

Tell you something else, I am lucky I was driving my f150. If I was in the GT350, I'd likely be a goner.

Appreciate all the well wishes.

Agree. 100%.

And Likely going to pick up a new F150 tomorrow. Thinking this one saved my life today.

Thinking they will total the one that got hit. But it only had 2,000 miles on it so maybe not. Worst case scenario they decide to fix it up (if that's even possible) and it turns into a work truck for one of my team.

Usually, when trucks get rear ended they get repaired but if its over 15k worth of damage it will be a total loss. If you have a pic I can tell you
