Deep Blue discontinued?
I saw a couple comments in here that the Deep Blue is no longer made. Does anyone know if that is actually true? IF so then did they only make 3900 of them?
thanks |

Yes sorry. The AD said the one the FedEx guy is delivering to me tomorrow is 3900/3900. Best look for another watch.
Rolex has made no formal statement about the D blue being discontinued. All rumors. |

Love the sarcasm that people here display towards new members . VERY helpful.
As far as I have read, the watch has not been discontinued yet. I think it's all conjecture.

When you frequent TRF on a daily basis every single day, you get why regulars and residence here responded the way they did to threads like is it safe, is this going to be discontinued, ect... I am getting there too...
It matters not if they do discontinued it or not...but if they do, i hope its gonna be the classic black rather than the DBlue. |

If you used the search function you would see that this topic comes up every so often, thus some of us banter a bit our responses :-) To your question, no it is not discontinued, but it is an often used sales tactic at ADs to say so. |

They've surely sold far more than 3,900. It has not been discontinued -- I think that if this were to occur, it would be announced at Baselworld (watch convention) which takes place every spring

I am sorry i made a sarcastic response towards the OP. Especially since he is a new member. Lets keep it friendly and not have this D blue thread turn into last months .

There's a reason news stations repeat the news over and over. The audience constantly changes. I understand that's not a perfect analogy, but isn't repitition a great way to learn? No one is ever forcing any one of us to post, so how about being inclusive?

The AD were I purchased my D-Blue has one in their safe for sale along with a BLNR. He didn't mention anything about discontinuing the D-Blue.

Actually, I don't mind the sarcasm as long as you guys tell me it is sarcasm..
It is interesting to follow this one, since it is the only one ever made by Rolex that only commemorates a person or event. Cant imagine that this will remain as a regular produced watch for long. |

The only thing that's curious to me about the D-Blue is that it was introduced and released outside of the "normal" Basel cycle.
Now, if that means anything...I don't know. But it sure is one good looking watch, IMO. |

Some say, like the known dealer Mr. Paul Thorpe, that the Dblue was already a trick to revive the bad sales..
