Quick question about removing a link (114060)

Hey guys I have question about removing a link from my 114060.

I have searched the forum and found a lot of threads about removing links

and from which side, however I haven't found one pertaining to my exact

setup.

A trusted seller on the forums removed 2 links when purchasing the watch

from him. I forget which position he removed the links from and I think my

watch came short one link (I think the sub-c is supposed to come with 13

and mine only came with 12. It's no biggie, the seller said it came with 12

and Google says 13.)

Anyway I have 5 full links on the 12 o'clock side and 5 full links on the 6 o'clock

side (nicely balanced.) My issue is I think I need one more link removed.

with glide lock all the way in the watch fits snug but not tight and with it all

the way out it is way too loose.)

So seeing as I am not sure if it came with 12 or 13, I'm not sure which side he

removed the two links from, and I'm not sure having a balanced watch

(5 links on each side) which side of the watch am I supposed to pull from next.


I don't like removing links if I don't have to so I don't really want to keep

messing with it. (I will if necessary.) So my question is should I take one

from the 12 o'clock or the 6 o'clock, or am I going to have to try both and

see which one works best (I'm guessing this is the correct answer.)

TLDR: Short one link , not sure which side seller removed 2 links from, need one more full link out and not sure which side I should take from (5 full links on each side)


Sorry for the long post, I have read up quite a bit and I haven't found a situation like mine seeing as I'm not sure which side he took them from and I can't find out exactly

how many links come with a sub from an AD. (and how many on each side )

Possibly I am not sure I find conflicting information online. If that's the case then all links are accounted for. My question then becomes what was the original configuration if all links were on the bracelet. Would it be 6 at the 12 o'clock and 6 1/2 at the 6 o'clock? Would it be 7 at the 12 o'clock and 5 1/2 at the 6 o'clock? etc.

Place the watch on your wrist do the bracelet up locate and hold the watch head central on your wrist, turn you wrist over and see where the clasp sits.

You will be able to see on the 6 o'clock side were the clasp will rest and then decide if the clasp needs to be moved closer to the head, if the clasp sits right then remove the links as required from the 12 o'clock side.

The submariner comes with 12 links + 1 half link.

Mine has 7,5 on the 12 o'clock and 4 at 6 oclock

Move your half link from the 12 side to the 6. Remove a full size link from the 6 side and replace it with the half link, ending with 4.5 on the six and 5 full on the 12.

Always better to have less links on the 6 side.
It stops the watch head rotating away on your wrist.
Also bear in mind that it's the actual clasp pieces that come into contact with your wrist that should be centered.
The clasp cover is a little shorter if memory serves.

I have two less links on 6 o'clock than on the 12 o'clock side.
Looks wrong when held up in the air but it fits perfectly

Hope you have sorted out. What is your wrist size? Don't worry how it looks when you hold in air ad you want perfect fit and nothing else.
Mine is 6.5 inches and it took a while to adjust the bracelet at the AD. I have 5.5 links at 12 o clock and 3.5 links at 6 o clock position. I kept the glide lock secured at the 4th slot allowing some movement either way. This helps to keep the dial sitting bang on the centre of the wrist and avoids this moving to 12o clock side.

Okay update:

I took one more link out from the 6 o'clock side. My issue (not sure if it really is an issue) is now with glide lock I lost a lot of my adjustment that I previously had. The watch will now only fit with glide lock all the way out or with it in 1 or 2 notches. I'm going to wear it around today and see if it made it any better. Thank you again for all the responses.

Add the link back in on the 12 o'clock side to bring the glidelock further into the clasp!

Have you got the half link fitted?

If I add the link that I just took out won't it be the same as it was before? The half link is still where it was from the dealer (12 o'clock side)

True but sometimes moving the clasp can aid fitment.

Here's an idea, add the removed link from the 6 into the 12 but then remove the half link as that should then move the glidelock into the clasp but with adjust in both directions

hmmm, good idea I'm going to give that a shot. I think now with 4 links on the 6 o'clock and 5 on the 12 o'clock it fits a little better however I don't have much adjustment with the glide lock as I did before. I can either wear it now with the glide lock all the way out or 1 or MAYBE 2 notches in. I'm going to give your suggestion a shot and see how it feels.

Update: I couldn't get the half link out because for some reason the screw driver I use to get all my other links out will not grab that screw. I did put the link I took out of the 6 o'clock side and put it back in the 12 o' clock side so now I have 6 on the 12 o'clock and 4 on the 6 o'clock. I'm gonna see how this works for a bit.

I think I like how the watch sits on my wrist with 6 links on 12 o'clock and 4 links at 6 o'clock. I'm gonna give it a few days and see how it goes. Thank you everyone for your help I genuinely appreciate it!

Yeah, that half link can be tricky to get out. I had to take mine to the AD to get it, but I think that will solve your glide lock fit.

For me moving the half link from the 12 side to the 6 side made a big difference to the fit. It now sits much better.

Yeah I may do that, but I can't do it myself. The screw driver that works on the other links doesn't seem to work on the half link. If I'm going to try that I will bring it into my AD and see how it works.

Update: After fixing the links it wears more comfortably higher up on my wrist however after wearing it all day it leaves a mark on my upper wrist... I assume this is normal? The only reason I ask is because I see some people on these forums who wear it higher on their wrist say they wear their bracelet loose. If I wear it loose up there it falls past my wrist bone.

I know it's a silly question but I'm new to Rolex and really want to love this watch lol.
