Icon3 Just a Ceramic "Daytona" thought.

There has been umpteen threads about the Ceramic Daytona and a thought I had this morning.............yeah it hurt

I suppose it may be hypothetical?

Many of us preferred the "White" face initially and many still do.
However, a few of us changed our minds when a "Black" became available
and pleased we took the opportunity of adding it to our collection.

Although Rolex, I understand, NO LONGER change dials.

BUT

If they DID in the future

would you

1 - Change the colour the the dial?

2 - Regret you didn't buy a Ceramic Daytona and enjoy it, until a change
was offered.

As I say, hypothetical.

I know I would have regretted not adding mine.

Would I change my dial to white? Maybe.

Would I have waited and waited and waited for a white?
All I can say is I am pleased I have ONE of the variants.

Hope this makes sense?

Fortunately for me, I wanted black all along, and that was what was first offered to me.

First one I got to see was a white...had it been available, I'd have bought it. But think I'd have regretted it unless I could also get the black (at list) as well.

So I'd be the opposite of your situation but I'd probably swap to black from white had I gotten white first.

My AD gotbin white before the black, I turned it down. The refrigerator white just didn't do it for me. I did like the contrast of it though. I also think the white is much more sporty. If I could own both I probably would but I'd still choose black before white.

Decent chance rolex would swap the dial for you 10 years down the road during a full service. I have heard of it happening in Canada with ge 116520. Perhaps it is different there.

I waited for a white dial but could have accepted a black one. I would not change and the white dial is perfect for me!

They're both amazing in the flesh and I know I would be happy with either.

That said, you gotta go with what sings to you...

Black was offered and I bought black as well. That said, I was one of those who wanted white for sure post Basel and then decidedly changed my mind by fall. So fortunately I got what I wanted.

I don't have either but prefer the black dial and would likely just wait to purchase it. I doubt I would ever change the dial if it were an option.

I had the choice of either and went with white. White is what I wanted and white it will stay.

I have the 116520 in white and so opted for the 116500 in black - I preferred that colorway as well in this model. Wouldn't change the dial.

I am kind of in a similar situation...except the owning part ;).

I really liked the white dial when it first came out and it started growing on me...

I am considering purchasing the black one for myself instead of the white one as soon as my AD calls me...

Waiting for the white dial here. Next one the AD gets is mine. I would pass on the black one if offered today as I have a couple of black dial watches (incl a Sub Date) so want the white to add variety plus I always wanted a white dial SS Daytona. When I saw the Basel release there was no doubt which one I wanted immediately.

Wanted white since seeing the Basel release pics and had the choice or either (sadly not both) on arrival and stuck with the white and glad I did as I love it..

However I now want the black as well

I'm happy with 002 Black dial but a dark navy blue Cerachrom bezel would be an icing on the cake in this case on the bezel

Just a Ceramic "Daytona" thought.

I wanted the black one first but then I got the white one. Would I change the dial? No. Would I get a black one so I have both? Yes.

Interesting guys.

I am very happy with my black face.

It was just a thought that occurred to me had I not tried the black on and thought it was FANTASTIC!! Subsequently bought it

Had I not.....

Would I be sat here now thinking.......

Mmmmm never tried black.....want white......

But if ever Rolex swapped dials I could at least enjoy a Daytona. NOW.

That was my thought..........

Anyway, at least I am very fortunate to be enjoying the superb black face now.
