Obamas Watch? (noy a political thread)
Does anyone know what type of watch Sen. Obama has been wearing? Looks like a nice watch, but have not seen a close up.
Note: This is not suppose to be a political thread or debate about Obama vs McCain. I personally am not a Obama supporter, but it looks as if he has good taste in watches, and curious to know what type it is and that is all. Thanks! |

Also wondering...
I've been curious about the same thing and haven't gotten a straight answer yet, just speculation (from other watch forums). Some suggestions are a TAG, an unmarked secret service watch, Invicta....
I think TIME magazine recently had a better shot of it, but cant remember for sure.

I was just about to start a new post on this.
What watch was Obama wearing in the debates? Sorta looked like a chrono peeking out from under his sleeve . . . |

It is definately a Chronograph. Even saw a close up, as has a Secret Service Logo on it, as was given to him as a gift about a year ago from a couple of the SS Agents who were assigned to work with him. But, I do not know the brand or model???
Prior to this last year, Obama used to wear a white faced Tag Huer. |

Thanks, Chad. Fascinating info.
With all due respect, I would love to see some hard substantiation of your assertions. Quote:

Thanks for the link.
Chad, do you think that the Secret Service would use an American company to make the watch? One poster on another forum claimed that "Made In China" was engraved on the case back, but no source was given for this conclusion. http://forums.timezone.com/index.php...=3813101&rid=0 Im gonna start a wild goose chase under the american made assumption. Which will be Fossil (10 brands), Bulova Corp. (6 brands), Movado Group (9 brands) and Timex Group (13 brands). I'll research those websites and see if anything pops up. I keep trying a generic google/yahoo/ask search but with no luck. There is too much information out there about Obama. Lets get to the bottom of this. I want to find out the make of that Secret Service Chronograph. I also emailed the Obama website. Thought it was worth a try.

The Obama campaign gave me a "we appreciate your email, but we are too busy to answer you at this moment" type of response. Oh well, it was worth a try.

I can't tell if it's a Secret Service logo or FOP. FOP seems more likely to have their own logo watch since they call me every night at dinnertime begging for donations.
We'll soon find out if it's Chinese. It will break. |

If I had to guess, I would say Kobold, based on nothing more than this would be an all American company that makes rugged "outdoor" type watches. I believe they also make custom watches to the buyers own specification.............
