Should I trade?

I was recently offered a 16523 Daytona with Zenith movement in exchange for my 16610LV. The question is,should I make this trade? I am a fan of Rolexes 2 Tone but I'm a bit concerned that because the watch is not SS it won't hold any value. Does the movement make it any better?

I would not make that trade. Putting aside the value of the Kermit is on a huge positive trend, aesthetics alone, I prefer the LV.

I would not. The 16610LV is too interesting a watch and is a perfect transitional piece in the Submariner history books.

I believe 16610LV has lower production numbers than the 16523? Keep it and buy a 16520!

TT Daytonas are not in huge demand. The Zenith movement really isn't a big deal as all 16520's have them, but SS models get attention similar to SS Subs and GMT's.

A trade in this case should be because you really, really want a TT Daytona, not because it is the best for future value. The TT Daytona will not increase dramatically in value where the LV very likely may.

If it was for a SS Zenith the answer could be more difficult.

Good advice here. I own a 16523 white dial so I like the model, but I agree with others that the LV may be more of a keeper. I bought mine right so the depreciation is already taken out of it. I do not think it will depreciate more, but also do not think it will appreciate. It does wear nice as it is quite a bit flatter and lighter than a Sub, but honestly, I like Subs much better. I wanted a white dial in the collection and like TT so it serves as a pseudo dress watch. Not too sure how long it will stay around. It is certainly not on my never move list...

I share similar idea with another poster: keep the Sub LV and buy a 16520.

I'll keep it unanimous...LV.

Plus, you'd have to change your user name.
