I Should Never Visit Car Dealwrships

Long story short (and I think only Paul here won't think I'm nuts)..

Strolled into a BMW dealership today. They had a silver/gray X5M. Felt instant tug upon the heart strings.

Before even haggling they took it down to 107 from 113.

They would give me 72ish for my RRS. I love my RRS, but that never stopped me in the past.

I've also got a 14 Raptor literally sitting in my office parking lot waiting to be sold. I'd likely walk away just about even by selling them both.

I don't think I'm serious about this. But of course I'm thinking about it.

Curious as to the consensus.

well seth, there's $20k off from the factory on 16's (assuming cash deal and a 2016 model) and another 8% gross which is the starting point so, you're close.

fwiw, drive the f-ing raptor and park the RRS.

Going on the last day of the year should indeed give you some leverage. Follow the advice above and enjoy! So yeah, go for it!

I love the x5 M Seth and if it was in the cards this year I would make it happen. Good luck and hope you get it. I much prefer it to the RRS.

Seth, buddy.... I want to help. Give ME your RRS.... see, that way, the decision is out of your hands and will not bother you any more. Simple eh?

As a matter of fact, I'll come out and pick it up, you don't need to arrange to ship it to me. No.. no need to thank me, just tring to help out a pal....

Seth, where are you looking?

My internet guy at Park Ave (They're not at the main dealership on 17 but in Maywood instead) should do MUCH better than that.

I've scored a couple of 335s at the very last day of the month when they're foaming at the mouth for sales.

BTW, fantastic car and I like it much more than the RR.

Guys, thanks for all the feedback and enabling. It might someday be in the cards.

But I'm not at all ashamed to admit that my wife put the kaibash on the idea midway through my first sentence. And she was adamant.

For the most part, she gives me very little grief. About anything. But she's apparently a huge RRS fan (me too obviously) and asked that I keep it a year. I can't complain with that compromise.

But if I can hold out, my goal for next year, new ride on New Year's Eve 2018

Let the enabling begin!

I will tell you this though Seth, the X6M is a violent machine.
Secretly I prefer driving my RR, but the lady stole it from me....

If I could only have one, it would be the RR.

Well if we are talking 'best interior, fastest, etc'...look no further than 2017 Bentley Bentayga.

600 ponies...

But Seth BMW is the one for the price point...oh hell, who are we kidding, no use enabling...wife said NO.

It's ugly as sin.....
If I had to do it over again I would have gotten the SVR.

I didn't want the racing bucket seats.....then I go buy the flashiest SUV with racing seats.

Wait till mid-Jan, the X6M is going to be a MONSTER when it's done. I have Danny a heads up on the projects. I just spent cash so the lady wouldn't know how much I spent!

Hey hey hey! I didn't give you a hard time when you bought that hillbilly racer a month ago

It's all good, we should all feel lucky we get to play with toys of this caliber.

Tell you what tho...the idea might be more alive than I thought. DT put a nice idea in my head. If she somehow gets the RR...hmm. Thought provoking.

Truth is tho, as much fun as this little diversion has been. It would be too painful giving up the RR.

Might do some upgrades tho...

Albeit Dee will frown...this one is coming Seth and I know you had SRT version, but 707 could be tempting. You could watch Dee in your rearview LOL:

In all seriousness, was a fun thread Seth
