Mick Taylor skill is too heavy for Stones songs IMO.
He have a good skill, but sound not too Stones for me.
For example his solo guitar in Wild Horses, too heavy for that song.
Stones music is light, but much energy and sexy.

Charlie Watts. In most bands the motor driving the music is the rhythm section, bass and drums. In The Stones, it's Charlie and Keef!

You can't touch the early stones stuff when Jones was with them.

My father's aunt actually threw Mick, Keef and Brian out of hew house thinking they were scruffy hipsters. My father's cousin knew them quite well, also the Beatles and was very, very close friends with Lonnie Doneghan!!!!!!

As for Ron, he is a great musician and seems to be wide eyed and in awe every time he plays with the Stones...what a gig man!!!!!!!!!!

stones

It's my belief that Brian was a natural musician who can fiddle with an instrument that he was unfamiliar with and in short order make music with it.

I vote for Brian, even though I enjoy Ronnie.

PEACE,

LenP

Jones all the way. In Faces, Jeff Beck did all the lead work anyway and Ron was just strumming the chords. Don't get me wrong, Ron Wood fits in with the Geezer look and the stones look great with him and have done well, but if you are just listening to the music, anyone with 6 months of lessons on guitar could fill in for Ron Wood.
