Need TRF help! Looking to buy outdoor Weber grill. No idea what I'm doing.
I'm at Lowes and I want to get a Weber grill since they have a good reputation.
I have no idea what I'm doing or looking at. I have a natural gas line outside so take that into consideration. I just want to grill Also looking to buy the BGR (Big Green Egg) I don't know why, it looks cool and I'm a sucker for impulse buys. |

I have had good luck with Weber, had both gas & charcoal types, one hooked up to gas line.
Make sure you get a cover. Get the best Weber you can afford.

Weber Genesis. All Weber are great just depends on what size suits your needs.
BGE are cool, but check Traeger pellet smokers too. Had both, prefer the Traeger.

You have gas covered, so grab a kettle. It's the sub of bbq grills! Seriously, I love my basic charcoal weber kettle. Its a good go-to for anything. You can grill, smoke.. The propane grill is great and all, but nothing compares to charcoal and the weber kettle does it best. Its expensive, not too big and takes up little room. A basic weber kettle, some Kingsford or good oak lump charcoal and some strike-a-fire charcoal starters can pump out game changing cook/flavor with little to no extra effort/cleanup over gas.

Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk She asked me to get rid of my "old junkie grill" 15 year old genisis that still worked. I picked up xl big green egg with the intent to get a new gas grill also. Its been 1 yr now and I use the egg for all my outdoor cooking needs. Haven't missed gas a bit. Cheers. -Austin Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk |

Yeah when I was shopping for a new grill I looked long and hard at all sorts of options but I just love the whole process with charcoal. I picked up a performer with the gas ignition and table. Works great for lighting the chimney

Leave and do some homework. Just my 2¢...
Then compare all the options based on what you'll be grilling, smoking, roasting outdoors.

Weber makes outstanding products. Toughest choice is gas or charcoal. Gas is fast and convenient, charcoal adds unique flavor but slower. I got as a present a performer as well (gas ignition)....love it! Added a small smokey for 2/4 people meals.

I have a Weber E670 in natural gas. Works great and plenty of space to do multiple birds or roasts.
I also have a Big Green Egg that is primarily used in our 5th wheel. Love the flavour that charcoal imparts, although it is more work maintaining temperature, and cleanup. So my vote is get both! |

Another vote for Weber Genesis. I am going on 8 years with mine, and have not had to replace anything and have not had one issue. Usually just give it a good cleaning at the beginning and end of the season (I don't grill much from Nov-Mar). And make sure to get a good cover. I keep mine covered at all times (except when I am cooking :p)
Picking up a BGE to compliment the Weber is an excellent choice, as you pretty much cover all of your bases with both the Weber and the BGE. |

Weber Genesis is the way to go. One of mine is 17 years old and works great and is now at my camp. The one at my home is 5 years old and great. I did ad a Weber kettle last year. When time permits I enjoy the charcoal ritual. For a quick hot dog or something before my daughters softball games the Genesis is my go to.

We have a genesis natural gas from lowes. It is the espresso color. We love it. No side burner, 3 burners on the main grill. About $800. Never run out of gas in the tanks.

Go BGE and become an egghead. You'll find yourself grilling the best steaks, pork chops, burgers, pizzas, Boston butts, briskets, etc. in no time. Someone previously mentioned Traeger. I've heard lots of good things about them, but have no first-hand experience. In addition, I've got photographic evidence over in the "Is it Safe" thread demonstrating that your Rolex will be perfectly safe on your wrist while grilling on the BGE.

BGE has been a great BBQ purchase.
Easy to use, and consistent results. However propane is certainly quicker to start up. |

I have an XL BGE and a gas grill. I love cooking on the BGE, but use the gas grill when time is of the essence!

Have a natural gas Genesis - 8 years old and going strong. I can't claim to be a super grill master but it's all I've ever needed.

Mission is 1/2 complete!
Weber Genesis II purchased and delivered this weekend! Unfortunately I couldn't get the color I wanted till after spring, so I just went with the classic black enamel. I'm super excited right now, I can't wait to go get some prime meat in that sucker! Got myself some OEM Weber accessories to hold me over Thank you guys for the suggestion! Next up...... BGR! Just can't a local retailer who carries them. |

Good start. Have a lot of friends that have BGE as well as Traeger grills, they all seem to love whatever they have. Look at them both on line before making a decision. I will likely go BGE but the. XL is so darn expensive once you get it decked out.

I have an LPG Baby Q.
Just the right size for us an and up to 6. All it needs is an 8 minute preheat on full gas and it's good to go. The open grid or hot plate insert gives me some options and I can use it as an oven. Webers are ok IMO.

Hi Jeff,
My tip is to cook not neuk. Most bbq 'experts' char their food or cook it too long. We should bbq in the same way we would cook on our kitchen cook top. Works for me.

Congrats and enjoy!
Got mine over the summer and really like it. Use it many times per week. The Weber cover is no good imo. I did a bunch of research and found this one. Has been holding up well. I use one of those grill brushes that releases water when scrubbing. Use it at the end when it's still real hot. Works for me

Use the brush to scrape the grates as soon as you take the food off. The stuff comes right off
