Stolen Rolex

Hey TRF members, I just had my stainless steel 34mm date 15200 stolen. A customer at a Starbucks grabbed my arm and yanked it off my wrist, it happened so fast. I filed a report. It is serial U849299. Stolen from a Starbucks off of Magnolia and Tyler across from the Tyler Galleria in Riverside California at 8pm Tuesday eve.
Any advise besides filing a Police report, would be appreciated. Is there a way of contacting Rolex and report it stolen so they can flag the serial #
Thank you

Martin

Stolen Rolex

Sorry to hear that. Yes you can send the info on your watch to Rolex USA as being stolen. In the event the watch is ever brought into Rolex for servicing, it will be recovered.

Some good info is in this old post: http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=367157

Obviously some phone numbers or names may have changed, but since you're closest to the Beverly Hills RSC maybe that's a good start.

Wow that's the first time I've heard of yanked off the wrist , did the bracelet break , or did they wiggle it off ?

In any case sucks to have your rolex stolen , hope it shows up for you!

Martin, very sorry to hear. I hope Starbucks is helping by pulling up the video to show this dirtbag's face to the police? Even better if he was an actual customer and purchased something with a credit card? That is very scary to think someone would do that inside a shop. I hope the watch finds it's way back to you.

In the meantime, keep an eye out in Craigslist, eBay for them trying to sell it.

You can contact rolex and have them flag the serial. Also check with the manager at starbucks so you can get video footage/images of the suspect to help track them down.

Crazy.

The thief may try to pawn it, so filing a police report (with the serial number) was a smart move. Pawn shops have to eat it if they unknowingly pawn/buy stolen merch (when it is recovered by law enforcement). As a safeguard against that, many pay a fee to access the "civilian" version of NCIC called "Leads Online" (or that's what it was called years ago at least). However, it isn't required, so you may check with all of the local pawn shops in the area to confirm which ones have access, and to give the ones that don't a heads-up.

Other than the police report, and notifying Rolex, you might cross post it (with serial number) on other watch forums and social media platforms as well.

Good luck!

you cannot just "call Rolex". You have to provide them with the properly executed incident report that identifies the watch and reporting authority (Police Report)

Sorry to hear about your experience.

Thank you guys for the help, I am really happy it wasn't my Sub. The 15200 was a 99 model and it either broke at the pin or unclasped, it left a nasty mark on my wrist. I am awaiting the police report (2 weeks) sigh...Before I can get it reported to my AD.
Starbucks does have the video and is awaiting law enforcement to request it. A few months ago my Ben Bridge AD at the Galleria Tyler was hit by a smash and run on the Rolex cases...People are animals...
