...SUSPECT Sub #3...
...seller ADMITS aftermarket redial and insert on a BRAND NEW Sub.
...if the buyer of this MISREPRESENTATION ever has to submit to RSC they will NOT touch it. ...needs removal (although, I kind of like it) Stan. http://cgi.ebay.com/ROLEX-MENS-SUBMA...QQcmdZViewItem |

1) Rolex will not even service watches that are pre 1980's
2) If the seller includes the original Rolex dial and bezel that they removed to the do the original customization of the watch and the buyer takes their customized Rolex watch to Rolex with the original parts, ROLEX WILL SERVICE THE WATCH with the original parts 3) Why even take your watch to Rolex to have serviced. Lets say you buy a $2000 pre-owned Rolex on Ebay, Rolex is going to charge $500 to service the watch and take $3 weeks when their are lots of qualified watchmakers throught this country that will service any Rolex for a couple hundred bucks. Yes, some watchmakers are more like plumbers, but there also are an abundance of NON CERTIFIED Rolex watchmakers who can service a Rolex just as well as Rolex does. 4) If you can add rims to a Mercedes, or repaint a car, why shouldn't you be able to enhance the cosmetics of a Rolex watch. Rolex makes a great watch but some people want to add something unique to the cosmetics of their watch or add diamonds. Is this wrong? Is this illegal? It is one thing to not disclose aftermarket parts or try and deceive into buying something that they don't know about, but this is not what Zpwatches and Anaheimjewlers are doing on Ebay. They both have a large inventory of 100% original Rolex watches and customized Rolex watches and all of their customized watches have clearly outlined the aftermarket parts. Thanks GUYS!!! |

Personally, I see no problem changing to a red dial and bezel insert. This is clearly mentioned in the listing by the seller. And, if Rolex won't service it, there are many watchmakers that will. I'd say most, a large percentage, of the diamond bezels and dials added to the ladies watches aren't from Rolex. Imagine if all the automakers had the arrogance of the Rolex Corporation - none of us would ever be able to have a vehicle worked on by a dealer if it weren't a facory part, wheel, or oil filter.
Comments posted on both sides of the argument here have validity, but changing to an aftermarket bezel and dial really is the owners choice.

Yupper....
....I am inclined to agree with you John.
....my PERSONAL gripe with sellers, is the fact that they should consider the consequences of their actions, WITHOUT disclosing the facts to the buyers as they relate to the AFTERMARKET items added to the otherwise gen Rollie. Stan. |
