Favorite "rubber strapped" watch? Recommendations Please!
Hey Guys!
Im looking for a watch for travel/pool use. Ideally with a rubber strap (although steel or kevlar type is also a possibility). Something that i dont mind getting roughed up. Nothing too big....ideally under 44mm. And on the cheaper end (under $6k) Would love some recommendations! Thanks! IWC Aquatimer? Omega Seamaster 300? Panerai? (a little bulky) |

How about getting an Everest/rubberB for your GMT?

I love my Breitling Chrono Superocean. I put it on rubber in the summer, and it's super comfortable. It is a discontinued model, but I would look into Breitling for sure..

That's a nice 'cheaper end' for a beater.

That's your answer hands down around 6k. Probably the best answer for less than double that actually

you could do any diver and buy an aftermarket rubber strap. I have an Isofrane on my Seamaster PO. I like the idea of a sub no-date on a everest/rubberB. I also love the Grand Seiko divers (SBGA029). The Panerai submersible is pretty neat too.

if you're not a watch snob, this
http://wornandwound.com/the-return-o...ack-a-classic/ if you must have a swiss make, this; and save $4k http://www.doxawatches.com/sub1200t_professional.htm or one of the ones you suggested as a beater. |

This was delivered to my UK home yesterday. I don't get to see it in person for another 3 weeks unfortunately.

With rubber strap? 5167
In all seriousness, my 'beater' is a 2500C 42mm PO on steel bracelet. To me, it represents not only the closest look to a Seasmaster 300 without trying to be retro, but also lots of memories of traveling over the years and beach vacations in Crete, Portugal, Italy, etc. Great summer watch, and just a great watch all around. |

I think a 2500 (Aluminum bezel) 42mm Planet Ocean on rubber is a hot piece.
I have the 45.5 version and although I wear Rolex and Tudor more often, I don't think I'll ever sell it. It's a fantastic, bomb-proof and accurate watch that I have actually received compliments on, unlike all my other crusty old watches. The SKX007J is another one (I also own) but the Seiko rubber strap is a bit crappy. However, put it on a nice Isofrane and I think that would be a sweet setup. |
