Try your AD (they might have some useful recommendations) but from experience you will pay far more than including with your home policy.

There have been several threads about this....... all i'll say is this.....
if you include with your homeowners ins check your jewelry limits. every policy has a limit in the US. check you deductible. If you filed a claim would it cost you anything for filing a claim (losing a claim free discount for 3 yrs?) having a personal article policy w $0 deduct thru your ins company at a minimal expense of $7 per $1000 +/- is nothing in relation to $1000 deductible and loss of discounts. Jewelers Mutual is another online option that many ppl here at TRF use. |

I've got mine insured on my home insurance via Viva, each item is individually listed, I phoned them up the other day to inform them of the price increase for the BLNR and they had already automatically adjusted it for me. Costs me about £30 for two watches per annum!!

From what I've seen, getting insurance in the UK is tough. It may also help to contact an AD and see who they recommend.

The problem with home insurance is that you cannot claim.....
Not literally.... However I had to claim in 2015 due to a water escape in the loft which brought down a ceiling. The cost was about £3k and was my first claim in 25 years. When I came to renew 3 months later the insurance had gone up £300 from the previous year. When I shopped around, the number of insurers that would not cover me because I had had a claim in the past 12 months. When I checked, if I have another claim within 2 years of the first claim I will almost be uninsurable, as most companies will not offer cover if you have had 2 claims within a 3 year period.... So although you may have cover, you have to think very carefully as to whether it is actually worth making a claim! I would never claim now unless it is for a large amount of several £000. Anything less than a grand I will just pay. Also, if you do have a 'situation' and ring to see if your covered and then decide not to claim, the Insurance Company will still log the incident and it will very likely affect future premiums....... |

Mine is on the house insurance but its getting quite expensive. Depends I think on how many watches you want to put on it. If you do go the contents way, as many others have said specify everything!

Have you thought of adding it to your contents insurance?
I use Hiscox and they cover all my watches and my wife's jewellery and their only stipulation is anything over £15k has to be specified. I tried TM Marsh for just my RD Daytona and my WG 40DD and they wanted silly money, around £2k just for those 2 watches!
