Ryder Cup

Could be a close run match this year at Valhalla, are you looking forward to it?

cant wait - but not sure it will be so close. Europe are quite a bit stronger than the US team and have been for a while.

I always love it though- it is such a great event

Euros have the stats, but USA will have the drive. Never underestimate the underdog...and we've definitely got the talent.

Interestingly, an American win this year will seriously call into question the value of Tiger in team play.

I'm looking forward to it very much. Although i've not been playing golf very long i really enjoy and watch the all the majors and get totally engulfed in the Ryder Cup.
Also, it's the only time i ever cheer for Europe as well!!!

On paper, the Europeans have a strong team. However, playing in Louisville will give the US some advantage as we are going to need it.

I can't play, hardly ever watch golf.....

But I love the Ryder Cup....Come on Europe!!!!!!!!

Lets show those coarse yankies a thing or two....

And also quietly grumble without making too much of a fuss about their Brutish "Geddddindahol!" catcalling on the putting greens!!!!!

Come on Nick...stick it to em!

Jim, I think that they are shouting encouragement to Bubba, who may have the TV on.

It will be a "Cinderella Story". Tiger's not there, Phil will probably flop, but Cink, Furyk and the young guns will take it to the Europas. Thank God Seve has retired. What a boor. I think Azinger will threaten to whip anyone's butt if they play poorly. Faldo made two huge mistakes I think. No Clarke and no Monty. I seriously think he didn't want Monty breaking his Ryder Cup win record, and Darren Clarke has been a stalwart of the Euro team and just won a tournament. Odin is with us at Valhalla. (any Norwegians on the Euro team?) I hope not.

GO USA - The USA team has several players that can really pound the ball off the tee box. I think that will be an advantage. That being said, the European team is strong. Should be a good match.

I went to the practice round yesterday and the opening ceremonies...Going out again tomorrow.

Oh dear. I think i might have to have the sound muted on the telly from now on and have commentary from the radio.
Do the crowd know how ridiculous they sound.

Not having Tiger could be a blessing in disguise, you have got a team spirit going for the first time in ages. Congratulations on the first day, hope we can mount a comeback!!

Don't you just love live TV? One of the announcers said something like, "That's not supposed to be a good hole for a hooker."

Usa lead Europe 9 - 7 after a dramatic and tense day of golf. Good to see the respect and sportsmanship between the two sides. Getting a bit tired of the moronic USA chants though, I don't think it adds anything to the atmosphere.
Looking forward to todays play, may the best team win.
