Incoming - Danitrio - Danitrio Urushi Maki-e Takumi Silver Waves

I had a deal working on several Omas FPs that didn't materialize and this one was way out of my budget for one pen. After the Omas' fell through I decided to just make an offer and to my shock the owner took it.

This is my first Danitrio. It is a Urushi Maki-e Takumi Silver Waves. I particularly like the way the artist did the cap in the blue gradients with the gold powder and what appears to be the autograph of the artist on the section. I believe the artist's name is Hironobu.

Never heard of this maker but beautiful pen, very unique and will certainly stand out in a collection.

Good stuff Richard! Out of curiosity, what Omas pens did you have lined up? The recent Omas Vision I picked up, and returned for repair, the seller is dealing directly with the person who bought Omas's stocks and spares. I wasn't aware that one person bought the stock until a few weeks ago when I picked up the Vision.

The nib on that is the latest Fireball design and made by Bock but tuned inhouse. The Takumi size may be my favorite of the Danis, slightly bigger bodywise than the Montblanc 149 but not the Louisville Slugger size of some Danis.

That on is a great example in every way.

For those not familiar with the Danitrio sizes here is one of my Takumi with some other pens as reference.

From top: Platinum Izumo, Sailor 1911 King of Pen, Nakaya Portable Writer with Princess hair, Danitrio Takumi, Pilot Custom 743.

I had 3 lined up to buy. A couple of commons that I didn't have and an Arco Bronze that they were taking a hit on. I can not blame them for backing out as our agreement was to my favor.

So has it arrived yet? That pen is from one of the younger Masters and his works is always fresh and interesting.

Yes sir. It did come in, but due to my wife's surgery my attention has been elsewhere. Upon initial inspection it appears to be as lovely as anticipated.

I will post more on it later.

Hope your wife is doing well. We look forward to the photos in due time sir.

To know the future is to be trapped by it
