Smokers? A dying art
How many of you still smoke out there?
I smoke about 1-2 cigars a week ....maybe, sometimes 2-3 a month when its to hot for me to sit outside. R&J's and Sancho Panza's mostly Last week I smoked 2 marlboro's for the first time in 23 years since I had no Cigars.....I did not inhale them i was afraid I might like it too much. I have had my trusty Dunhill lighter that I bought in the U.K. since 1980 and it stoped working yesterday and I mailed off today to have it fixed. |

I've smoked off and on for 35 years and I think I,ve finally had it. Between the fact that I always feel lousy from the effects of smoking and the recent smoking ban in Pennsylvania prohibiting smoking in all public places I think it's finally time. We'll see.

My biggest regret in life is that I'm smoking
I've been on and off but mostly struggling to quit, but in recent months I've smoke much less. |

Smoking kills, another conspiracy theory.
My grandfather smoked and drank in excess since he was 13 and died peacefully in his sleep in the end. He was 27.

Greg, you have a way with words, calling smoking a "dying art."

During the warmer months I'll smoke between 2-4 cigars a week and in the Winter somewhere around 1-2 per month. Never took to cigarettes.
I typically will smoke one of the following: Cuaba Exclusivo Trinidad Fundadore Sancho Panza Non-Plus La Gloria Cubana Medaille d'Or #4 |

I enjoy smoking cigars (Acid, Nub, Trinidad) 1-2 per day during spring,
summer, and fall. Usually 1 per week during the winter (too damn cold outside) cheers Kevin |

I wish smokers could see what I deal with every day. People with bad hearts from smoking, guys having their voicebox cut out and a hole in their neck to breathe through, tongues removed, feet amputated, patients spending their last weeks on the ventilator gasping for air.
I think someone on here said it best: cigarettes are the only product that when used as intended will kill you. I'll add that it will be a miserable death.

I havent had a cigarette since 98 and I smoked 2 packs of Marlboro Reds a day. I smoke maybe 1 to 2 Cigars a month maybe more when I am on vacation.
My Favorite is Padron 1926 and 1964's, Followed by Davidoff Millennium Blends. For a cheaper smoke I like Rocky Patel Vintage 1990 and 1992's. These are a great smoke for about 8 bucks a stick.

Same can also be said of sugar, red meat, hydrogenated fats etc. The world is full of bad things that feel so good and many see it every day...they just don't care! J PS I never, ever smoked cigarettes and probably get through a couple of cigars every 6 months but I could take it or leave it. |

I enjoy a Padron 3000 cigar every now and then. As a matter of fact, I had one last night and enjoyed it! I see nothing wrong with any pleasure enjoyed in moderation (and do I enjoy pleasures).

Smoked over a pack a day for 40 years. Gave it up cold turkey 5-6 years ago (I've blocked it out so much I can't even remember what year it was) and haven't regretted it for a minute.
I hate cigars. Never could get into that horrible oder.

I smoked a (tobacco) pipe in college and occasionally cigarettes. I smoked about 5 cigarettes a day from about 1994-1998, and then stopped. I would also stop for a couple months at a time if I felt it was affecting me, or that I wanted to smoke too much. I still have 2-4 cigars a year. Like Brian, it's a moderation thing. I'm too much of a control freak with my body to let something get the better of me (addiction).

I've smoked from age 11 til 23, and I'm soooooooo happy I quite in '03. That was my wedding gift to my husband... I stopped a week after our wedding day.
I've been trying to convince my mom to quite ever since; but she keeps telling me "she hopes she will soon" but doesn't really give it an effort! It pisses me off!

I smoked a pack a day for 25 years until I had a TIA (mini-stroke) in 2002. Smoked on the way to the hospital but quit cold turkey.
Now I'll smoke a few cigars a week. |

I never smoked cigarettes but do smoke, on average, 3 cigars a week. Never smoke out of my own home. (Although Anne isn't too happy about that). In my country smoking in all public places and restaurants and bars is prohibited. The latter since January first of this year. All kinds of initiatives have started to circumvent that ban: a club with a membership, bars with a glass shield and overpressure and even a 'church' for smokers. All failed and now the 'interim' period is finished, the fines are starting to come down.
I do see the problem and I know what it can lead to. But if our governments don't want the loose the little bit credibility they still possess, they would ban it all together. But hey, what about those billions in taxes?
