Tudor Big Block Black Face
Hey all.
I've never owned a nice watch and ready to pull the trigger on my first. I would love to own a rolex but spending $5K for my first watch is a little much for me. I would be too nervous wearing it (plan on having this as my everyday watch). I decided on Tudor. While it isnt a Rolex I do love the Tudor heritage. I am hoping to spend around $2k. Is that viable? Am I making a mistake not buying a rolex. Would love any advice. Anything I should look for in particular when trying to track a good price? Thanks in advance. Akkis |

Big Blocks are thick watches! Love the old school plexi and the rotating bezel with chronograph and date functions.
But no way are you getting one for $2000 US. I'd expect something closer to $3500 and up for a good example. |

Got it. I tried on the rolex sub/explorer and i felt the face was a little too small to my liking. It looked puny on my wrist.

Why dont you look at the Tudor Tiger, model 79280. Similar in style to the big block but for half the price. It is much thinner too.
You could reach out to this seller here on TRF and see if he still has it. It is a black dial and its priced right where you are trying to be. https://www.rolexforums.com/showthre...ighlight=79280

The difference in thickness is in the design more than the actual numbers. It's 1mm less than the Big Block.
There are non Tiger 792X0's and 792X0P [polished lugs] that you might find close to your price. But the early 792X0's w/ Rolex crown, case back, & Oysterdate dial are close to BB prices. dP
