Well folks, that was fast! I went from no pens of any significance whatsoever about a month ago, to buying a Montblanc Meisterstuck Legrande ballpoint at a boutique on a business trip about 2 weeks ago, then buying 2 classique MB ballpoints (pre-owned) on the flight home (gold and platinum from a seller with a few thousand reviews with 100% positive feedback, basically all of them related to high-end pens, who offers a 30 day no questions asked return policy), and about an hour ago I bought a pre-owned Meisterstuck 149 from the same seller! (18k medium nib, complete with box and paperwork that originally came with it). I've joined the fountain pen club!
Also ordered up some Rhodia dot pad and Waterman serenity blue. I am a newbie, so let me know if either of these are not recommended. The pen itself comes with a bottle of MB ink, so I'll use that until its gone of course. I'm not sure of the ink color that comes with the pen. It's one of those MB bottles that comes with the 149 in the box so it sits at an angle alongside the pen, and it says "Montblanc Tinte-ink-encre-tinta inchiostro <some writing in maybe japanese?> 50mL Made In Germany" and then there is a dot to the side of that which looks like blue in the middle, so I'm assuming it's a shade of blue. In other pictures it looks indeed like the ink itself is a deep blue. Can't wait to try it out! I'll be sure to post some pictures once it arrives. Thanks for the enablement, I mean, encouragement -Jason |
