In Love With My Rolex Explorer II - 16570
Hi one and all!
I've been a member of the RF for a few months now and part of my time here has drawn me to research and recently purchase a little less loved steel sports Rolex: the Explorer 2. I'd like to share my review on this watch with the forum - featuring 3 things I LOVE and HATE about this particular model. Would love some feedback from the forum and any suggestions on possibly my next watch :-) ROLEX EXPLORER 2 (16570) - 3 Things I Love & Hate. |

Awesome review as always! I'm looking to add a 16570 (Polar) to my collection and your video was really great.

Hi. That seems like a fair review, although I personally like the lighter clasps/bracelets of the older Rolex models (and I wear mine on straps a lot, too.)
I also bought my 16570 spur of the moment. I was at a jeweler getting another watch looked at when I saw the Exp II in the case...and I traded my SubDate right off my wrist for it (well, I actually had to go home and get the box.) It's just so much sleeker and feels more comfortable. I actually hope the value stays low, so that I'm never put off of beating the thing around in the future. |

Well done. I think your spot on in your review. Just wish they had an Explorer II in that size with all the modern features (bracelet, lume, movement, etc.)

Good review, thanks.
I'm considering a 16570 as a future purchase, and so found this interesting. Liked the decent sound level in the review (so many mumble or are too quiet), and appreciated the brevity and simple focus upon the three loves/hates. Good job. |

Sweet! A chance to post yet another pic of my 1991 X 16570. :)
Nice review except people have been complaining about 'cheap' Rolex clasps for 30 years that I know of. Bitching about those horrible Rolex clasps was considered sport in the early days of the forums until people noticed they were bitching about 30-40 year old clasps still in daily use...like this one, 47 years old. In those days people actually used watches and Rolex took pride in delivering a supremely strong watch that didn't weigh a lot. Those old light 'cheap' bracelets were designed to last with very little weight penalty. Modern users are coming from a different place and value weight as a sign of strength. [ Munch on that. |

I love my polar 16570. Why?
1. One of the very few white dialed sports references. 2. Doesn't look like the Submariner. 3. Slimmer profile makes it versatile but has enough WR to do most water related activities. 4. Slim buckle (yet with a locking clasp) makes it wear even more comfortably. |
