So I guess that's it? BLNR lives to rule for another year

I imagine an SS Coke GMT-c will join the Rolex one day in the future, but for now the BLNR keeps its spot as the darling of the GMT line.

I had noticed a lot more BLNRs hitting the open market, which I had presumed had something to do with anticipation of a SS Coke.

Maybe next year. BLNR values should hold steady until then.

That's why my motto is to stick with classics! Black dial / bezel and no stress about what's to come ;)

Judging by the sky dweller I'd say a steel Pepsi might be seen in a few years time

I don't ever see a steel ceramic Pepsi....I just don't think it will happen.

The BLNR is on next purchase list regardless of Basel as I don't need another ss Diver.

Seems like Rolex releases SS versions of new models about 5 years after the PM model is released. You'll probably see something next year.

I love my BLNR but am seriously thinking of trading up to the Sky Dweller. What is not to love about the SD? It would be a bit redundant to own both the GMT and the SD in my opinion.

I can see the appeal of both in a collection. One is more sporty, a tool watch whereas the other is more dressy..

I bought the blnr a month before Basel so obviously I didn't care what came out. It's just an awesome watch overall and will be a classic down the line.

The BLNR is the perfect Darwinian evolution of the GMT line. All lesser versions are slowly becoming extinct. : )

What?? How does a SS SkyD foretell the coming for a black and red bezel GMT? The coke has always been SS. The SkyD has always been PM. Explain please.

+1 Even if they released an SS Coke - I'd still prefer the BLNR having a 5 digit Coke already. :)

Pure speculation but I'm guessing the SKD is a slow seller so IMO the SS model was a smart move. The blue stick dial even looks better to me than the PM models. At $14Kish it's a terrific value if you like the complication.

Not only is the BLNR my favorite GMT watch, it is one on my favorite Rolex watches. Although, I have to admit, I also like the new Rolex Daytona in white gold with a silver dial.

I am obviously biased, but I predict that in the generation of ceramic GMTs, the BLNR will top the Coke even when they do bring out a Coke. The Coke has always seemed to play second fiddle to the Pepsi, but the BLNR is something entirely different. For that reason, setting the metal aside, it will always be the Pepsi by a country mile, then the BLNR, then the Coke. TEHO of course, and highly subjective, but that's my guess for the long run

Don't like the BLNR at all w/ only one half "painted" the other left incomplete which is exactly how I feel about the coke.

Pepsi uber alles.

He's referring to the red and blue BLRO in SS, as now the precedent has been set for making very similar WG models in SS. However I think this is still very unlikely as the PM GMTs and SkyDs are not really comparable.

As for a CokeC I couldn't see this coming out straight after the D500 last year, but I think it's likely in the next year or two and the SS SkyD confirms to me it will be in SS now.

The LN is no slouch either!

More versatile than the BLNR IMO.

I still think the BLNR is destined to be a classic years down the line. A coke wouldn't have distinguished any interest in it IMO....it's just perfectly executed.

Happy you enjoy it, good idea

It's not a macro shot, just a crop on a picture with a Nikkor AF-s 16-85 and old D7000

The lack of a Maxi-dial Super case SS heritage model (Pepsi/Coke/RootBeer) in Ceramic is increasing the prices and value of the 5-digit reference GMT II.
