DJ41 Love

I am absolutely loving this particular version of the DJ41. There are a million different Date-Justs, but this one - at least in pictures - is really singing to me.

Can anyone elaborate on the differences between a DJ2 and a DJ41 please?

The DJ41 is the latest generation of the Date-Just, as the DJII has been discontinued. DJ41 has a longer power reserve than DJII, and a slightly smaller case size (see other TRF threads on this; it actually should be named the DJ40). Some folks feel it's better proportioned than the DJII, although opinions on that vary.

However being looking at the Rolex official website and your pic ..
Lots of the watches suddenly have bizarre shading ..

An error or has the website being hacked ?

Yes it's a rhodium sunburst dial. Some of the black dials even have a sunburst such as the SkyD, clearly these are very popular and Rolex makes them so well.

As mentioned above, the bezel is better proportioned on the DJ41 and it has the new movement.....but most importantly....it has the easylink extension. Personally, I will no longer consider any watch that does not.

Yeah...that one's got my eye as well. I didn't think I would like the smooth bezel/jubilee bracelet combo, but it really works.

The proportions of the DJ41 are just perfect, IMO.

Couldn't agree more. They definitely do the sunburst dials right. The new SkyD's are certainly stunning as well.

I believe the DJII (at least the later ones) also had Easylink.

In any event, the DJ41 is (at least IMO) a better prorportioned watch, and the extra power reserve is a huge plus.

I'm lovin the new DJ41. I've been trying DJ's on for nearly 10 years but couldn't pull the trigger (too small or too big). With different bezel, braclet and watch face options you can build your own. I'm partial to the blue sunray dial and fluted bezel. To me it finally looks and wears right. The new movement is the icing on the cake. I also like having the easy link extension. Cheers!

To me the extra power reserve does nothing for me. Intended as a daily wear, my DJ 2 is always good to go because it seldom leaves the wrist

Whether or not the minor appearance differences make a difference to you, the brand new movement, 3255 should. Itisa stop up from the DJII one and from whatIhear a huge advancement.

This is exactly where I've been on DJ's....either too small or too big. I'm glad to hear the 41 is better proportioned and potentially more of a 40 than a 41.

I am saving for this watch now. I guess it'll take me about a year to the Basel buzz to die down to where the price premium isn't too bad.
