Broke my 16610 bezel insert...
Hey guys! On my watch I just picked up, I noticed the pearl was just ever so slightly off center. I read about how easy it is to pop off, center and pop back on. Well.....I'm not even sure how, but somehow I managed to crack the bezel right above and below the pearl. I don't even think I applied pressure to that area, so maybe it was always broken and I didn't notice while it was installed, i have no idea. I re-installed it, and you can't even really tell....but I know it's there and I'd like to fix it correctly.
Anywho, what is the best place to get an OEM Luminova replacement. I'd like to find an old one (or roughly same age as my '99 16610) so the lume glows uniformly. Is there anyone on the forums that's know for having parts? I'm new to Rolex and new to the forums, so I don't know the go-to people yet. I'd go to the AD, but I'm assuming they'll install something brand new that won't match. I tried to post a WTB....but it seems I don't have rights to do that yet. Thanks guys.....I feel like such a dork! |

Can you please post some pictures? Should help assessing the issue.

Sure...though it's super hard to see when installed. It literally cracked almost all the way through.

Did those pics help? I mean, when it's installed, it's ok. You can just see a hairline mark. If I take the insert out again, it's just barely still holding together almost snapped all the way through.

I haven't really seen any Super Luminova that has 'aged' as far as looking different as it gets older. From my experience pretty much any 16610 insert should match up well.

Ah ok. Wasn't sure if some of the older ones just don't glow as long. Didn't want the hands to only glow 30 min and the pearl to glow for like 2 hours. Probably not a huge deal though.

I would just live with it. It's original and belongs on that watch, and the damage is not even noticeable. If you do get a new one, buy from the RSC and have them install it. That would be safest and cheapest.

You're probably right. It just bothers me that it happened...
