Rolex discount from AD in the UK
How much discount can you usually get from an AD in the UK for a Stainless Steel Rolex?
I think from research I have read 10%/15% is fairly common discount to get? Also would there be much discount available on the GMT BLNR or the Submariner LV models? Thanks in advance |

Ask for a discount on a YG or TT model and they will politely sit you on a chair, make you a cup of tea and spend 10 minutes kissing your feet. Regards Mick |

Literally 0% chance of discount
You wont even get a finance option as both these will sell in an instant |

First of all good luck with even finding any of the above in stock let alone getting a discount on one. |

Unfortunately, the UK seems to have a constant shortage of Steel Rolex models to the point where waiting-lists and paying a premium are common.
Expect to pay full retail and expect to wait a bit. However, sometimes you can be lucky if you phone up a number of ADs you might find one thats just received your desired watch and its not already spoken for. Thats what happened for my GMT. |

I would still try, I got 100 quid off and a wallet and magazine. If they won't give discount, at least try for some merchandise.

You'll be lucky to find a SS model, let alone a discount

Ok thanks to everyone for their replies. I guess I was a bit naive on thinking discounts were available.

I tentatively mentioned discounts on the DD40 I tried yesterday and the salesperson's expression looked like I'd just insulted her dress-sense.
Even Iconic Watches only offers 13% off. Last edited by Lemieux66; 20 April 2017 at 01:57 AM.. Reason: % correction |

Really depends on the model.
My AD has quite a few SS DJ's in stock but no sports watches in SS. And zero discount on SS. PM discounts up to about 20%

It really also depends on the AD.
I got 2.5% off a GMTIIc a few years ago, back when it was the only ceramic in the SS lineup. However this wasn't a major metropolis AD with a high footfall. It was my first business with them. Venture out of your cities and find the booty, and haggle. |

Thanks again to all the recent replies. I think I must have been reading some very old forums which is why I probably got confused thinking you can get discount.

Why would you give even 100 pounds off a watch, when there 20 customers just a phone call away ??
Would you?? |

As above, finding these models at ADs is the challenge. Just look at iconic watches and Swiss watch co (watches.co.uk) etc and they're over list price.
There are so many threads about people on long waiting lists for these models in the UK and being lucky to find one. BLNR GMT for example is £6,550 at a dealer brand new (it was £5,950 before increase) but you'd not manage to get a second hand one for that, so really £6,550 is a great price if you can find one. With these models you'll likely be zero discount and limited if any goodies. Good luck though, and your question wasn't stupid. In fact when paying £6,550 for a watch you'd expect to be able to get a bit off. However sadly the UK Rolex market is a tough one just now for buyers. |

Got a call this morning from an AD I'd phoned in October last year saying they'd got a 114060 in for me. I explained that I managed to get one from another dealer. But that would've been nearly 6 months waiting just for a simple no date Sub!

I got £250 off a BLNR and a hulk . . . . . . Sadly that was back in the day. Only 2 to 3 years ago but seems a lifetime away. Still my AD got me a ceramic Daytona as soon as they came out and a deep sea blue so I'm just happy I can get them.

Thanks once again to all the recent replies. Looking back, I feel quite stupid asking the original question to be honest but I think its because I was reading really old forums where I quote '10% off SS watches' seemed to be the norm from ADs (unless once again I'm mistaken)
