36mm DateJust

Do you all think Rolex will ever discontinue the 36mm DateJust as a men's watch? Most men's Rolexes are 39mm+

..............am okay with the range 36mm-40mm tops.
But since the 36mm became the real classic size before the big round dial/bezel craze?

I feel good with my TT DJ 36mm, I don't think Rolex will discontinue that size, as it would be less to make and produce than the newer size. It's good that they can cater to the wanted size.
I would have both sizes but nothing larger that would deface the classic looks of the originals.

36mm is a classic, it will never panda to what's vogue. Your dad wore a 36, so trust in him.
Saying that, some watches do look better in different sizes. Feel does come into it too.
Then again a large but well proportioned watch can look good. Point in case would be the 43mm Sea-Dweller. It's big but ideally scaled up, everything is in proportion. Proportion to what, in proportion to the classic 36mm of course.
The older 5 digit sports models have the same proportions as the 36mm, but the 6 digits don't. That's until the new 43 SD came along.
Like a lot of watch lovers, I have nothing to prove and happily wear a 36mm.

I do not think so. But who knows. Maybe someday. The trend is changing very quickly.
I have a solution. We just need to buy more 36mm models.

I certainly hope not!
But I'm fine, I've got mine already.

Actually, I see the opposite, I see a gradual trend towards more traditionally sized watches, at least that's what Basel has shown us the past few years. My 36mm collection makes me quite happy and is a great changeup to the Sub and Daytona. Subtlety never goes out of style.

And that said, you will never have to worry about a shortage of 36mm Rolex product; the second-hand and vintage market is flush with inventory of many of these timeless styles, especially the DJ.

It's a classic and the size is just right! Look at the bao Dai Rolex on HODINKEE it's got the 36mm case and what really makes the watch! This mine a 1960 date just original dial hands prob changed during the first service. One owner besides me it has the rare original door stop dial

36mm DateJust

I think 36mm Datejusts are way underrated.

I don't see them going anywhere any time soon.

No I don't. I think 36 mm is a classic size and it looks good on most wrists. Sure people are getting bigger, but I think eventually years from now the obesity epidemic may be reversed thus making 36 mm more popular? I know some people with small wrists still like 45 mm watches, but I hope they keep 36 mm for years to come because I do believe it is a classic size

I don't think the 36mm DJ will be discontinued. It's a classic size and watch which has been around for many decades.

I have a small wrist and the 34mm looks just fine there. A 36mm would be perfect for my next one, but the trend toward huge watches kind of irks me. It's a watch, not a clock.

Some of the lesser brands, such as Invicta, have watches so large, they weigh a full pound!

I have a small wrist and prefer the 34 and 36mm watches. That leaves more vintage stuff for guys like me!

Never, they have too large of a market. Especially now women are getting into 36mm.

Maybe Rolex doesn't consider it a "men's" watch? It's just the 36mm and happens to look great on ladies too

Isn't the 36mm DJ still their best selling? Can't see why they would get rid of it...even if it was only top 5 of their sales.

36mm is the Standard where all else takes off to and from and back.
