strap options for travel

i'm looking into some strap options for traveling. obviously i can just use the bracelet but i also want to check out other options. mine is a 116710 gmt-c.

-nato (but read some members had theirs pop out out of the srping bars). and no hole case may not be the best.

-leather/cordovan strap. probably my preferred option. i really hate how the watch looks with the endlinks attached. custom to maybe close down that gap? anyone has experience?
**on another note, came across a video by everest claiming that the exposed gap will damage the lugs. sounds a bit ridiculous and a zealous sales job to me. correct me if i' wrong.

-rubber. last option since the prices are a bit ridiculous, imo. looks to be the simplest option tho.
