SS Daytona White dial or Milgauss GV?
Hi
I've been around quite awhile.I'm about to make decision of buying SS Daytona white dial or Milgauss GV,but can't decide.I want to see some opinion about which one would you go for? Both are great watch,but....unfortunately I can only get one,and I'm not buying for future value or resale. At the end,the one I choose will stay with me for long long time.Let say I like both of them....can't decide. |

The GV is a very cool watch. I just think it is hard to beat anywhere.... The Daytona. I love the White Face - I am hoping to have mine on my wrist today....

Already have a black Milgauss, so white Daytona is on the list, right after I get my LV

Two differnt watches, both great, but this may be something only you can decide.
I have always wanted a Daytona so that would be my choice. That said, I recently tried on the GV and really, really liked it, and I haven't cared for the Milguass in the past

Human nature would generally make you choose one over the other. Look deep within yourself and the answer will be there. I'd take the GV, but that is because I have a Daytona already, but my answer is really just mine. You need to find your own answer.

Daytonas are a dime a dozen...everybody and their sister has one..
Go for that Milgauss...the distinctive dial and the larger viewing area make it one killer piece.........

I'm in the same dilema. But I have already have a black Daytona... Debating if I should add a second in white or a GV. I'm leaning towards the GV with all the pics provided on this great forum.

I can't answer that for you. WHich do you think you'll enjoy seeing on your wrist day in, day out, different clothing, situations, etc., for years to come?

That's a tough one!!
The GV seems to split opinion - in much the same way as eating Marmite does! If you love the GV and get one, I'd say you'd be in a smaller band of people than If you love the Daytona and get one. To me that makes the GV more exclusive, in a way, and so would tip the balance. Hence I'd recommend you go for the GV - but I'm sure you'd be happy with either. They're both great pieces. Crimbo |

Tough decision Rolexism, Both are great timepieces
I've only seen one GV in the wild, and that was Felly's... I've seen quite a few Daytonas in the wild, even yesterday at the OysterFest, the guy was from out of town, San Francisco, and also a motorhead, a Paul Yaffe kind of guy BUT Daytonas have been around for decades and the GV is a brand new release so this is to be expected... Both Felly and I have the White dial 116520 Daytona and the Milgauss GV; Felly alternates between both, I alternate between a Sub, a Dweller and the Daytona and my GV lives in the safe wrapped in factory plastic... I believe both will increase in value and are as sound an investment as you can make in a timepiece... I'd say get both if possible, check your finances if you can purchase only one as the Milgauss is $3K USD less than the Daytona, and there are waiting lists for both... I don't see a wrong decision either way One small note, if you fly with your Rolex, I would suggest the Daytona, the 904L goes right through a metal detector so you don't have to remove a +$10K watch and let it out of your sight. The Milgauss' Faraday cage will set off the detectors and require removal for security purposes. ENJOY And best of luck

I have and wear both, but I would ask one question. Have you EVER seen another watch of any brand that has a colored crystal like the GV? I haven't, and for that reason alone I would pick the GV. I like exclusive, and there's millions of white dial Daytona's out there, and I LOVE my eleven sixty-five twenty, but to me it's just not as exclusive as the GV. JMTC.

Stash it in your carry on...
My DSSD set off the buzzer even though it was the only metal I had and I had my arms stretched out in front of me (as suggested in other threads)

I've not worn the DSSD (222 grams of 904L) through airport security, although I have worn a Sub, my Sub and Daytona have never set off the detectors...

Daytona = $9925 USD, price increased from $9200 and $7900 I believe this is correct, I'm sure I'll be corrected by some anal Wis in 4.3 seconds if I am wrong

lol John E.
Well I just dropped that exact amount last Friday the 3rd for the GV. So everything to do with the Poll I had to vote Milgauss. (even though the SS Daytona still remains a grail piece to me) |
