Some years back, I remember there was some brand that sold their watches in a little water-filled box.

I'm not certain, but I think Walmart carried that brand.

The thing is that Rolex has kept up with the times.

In the old days, a watch that could be displayed in water was spectacular.

Rolex has since sought to demonstrate water resistance in more compelling ways, such as the bathyscaphe Trieste and the Deep Sea Challenge.

I think we've clarified this. You CAN get your Rolex wet, but you can NEVER take it near a shower, God forbid.

I'll be honest, some of the craziness I had read kept me from doing so. Finally, yesterday, I had to see for myself. I was more concerned about steam than water, as I take VERY hot showers.
