Icon19 Please help me decide on next addition:

I do not have a Datejust, so I will will be adding EITHER:

a) Rolex Datejust II, 41mm, 116334, white dial, white stick. Fluted WG bezel, oyster bracelet:

or

b) the newer, but different but to dial, Rolex Datejust 41, 125334, blue dial, white stick, Fluted WG bezel and Oyster (latter three components the same). Only difference is color of dial which I wonder how it will look in person day-to-day use.

In either option I prefer a smooth bezel with the oyster bracelet. Jubilee with flutted for me.

Wanted to say the classic one, but you already have it. Between these 2, DJ41, better proportioned than DJ2

I like the blue dial better, the white dial is a little too plain for me.

White Dial DJII. I prefer the sportier look of the DJII than that of the DJ41.

Make sure to try them both in person. The new DJ bezel still looks too big and clumsy to me in person vs the original 36.

When you put the DJII and DJ41 next to each other, there are slight differences in the bezel, but not as much as everyone on TRF is making them out to be. I went with the DJII because I think the thicker sticks on the dial look much better than the thinner ones. Wasn't that concerned with the additional power reserve in the new movement because I hardly ever take my watch off. Can get a substantially better deal on a DJII right now.

Between those two - and not subjecting you to a list of my preferences - I'd select the blue dial for its contrast.

Yes -- contract is a fair point that has me seriously considering this. That said, I have NOT had a chance to see the watch in person. Do you think the blue will look like photo... darker? lighter? True to picture? Thoughts?

Wow -- as of this post, the Blue dial is winning by about 75% vs 25%!

DJ2 and DJ41 are different proportions in bezel/hour markers. The newer DJ41 is more elegant looking, and the DJ2 is more 'sporty'. Which do you like better?

or is the color of the dial the only thing you are asking about? Both beautiful colors. Blue is sunburst, so that would get my vote.

Whichever color you choose, the DJ41 is a total home run for sure.

Well, for now I still stick with Datejust II stick in white dial. Here is a pick from this morning (ran my LED battery over it from a few inches every so often -- thus the green lume!)
