yachtmaster 40 v 37

So after years of everything but Rolex I may finally take the plunge. Specifically with the new yachtmaster with the rhodium dial. Long story short, I prefer the dimensions of the 37mm on my wrist (yes I am a guy, but I'm firmly in the "moderate looks better than big" school) though I think the cyclops eye integrates better with the 40mm.

Anyway, is there any consensus here about whether 40mm hold value better than 37mm? I realize it is impossible to know for sure. I'm not asking that. I'm simply asking whether **in general** mid size sport models are considered tougher to resell -- old explorer i's excluded, of course. Again I realize I'm asking for speculation and that's what I expect to receive. Maybe there's no difference at all. Maybe the YM is so niche nobody is familiar enough with it to know. I'm just curious.

This won't swing the decision. I'm just trying to cover my bases. Thanks all.

40mm will be more liquid.

I'd like to see wrist shots of each.

I find the 40mm to wear quite small, esp compared to the ceramic 40s, and as the guys say there is a lot more demand at that size and hence stronger resale, altho neither's is very good so you need to buy right.

If I thought I would want to flip at all I would go with the 40mm. YM is niche to begin with and 37mm would be more niche.

Beautiful watch though! I had the platinum dial once, liked it except the bezel scratched something dreadful.

Here are two lousy in-store photos from my ancient iPhone. Difference is subtle. 37 (top) is perfect to my taste while 40 (bottom) is a **touch** big, though I agree with the poster above that they wear small.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone!

There's 100% consensus that the 40mm will hold value much better. That 37mm will be HARD to sell.

With that said, I think the 37mm looks good on you.

The 40 doesn't even look too big on you in my opinion.

I am the same as you, but the simple truth is that the dimensions of the 40 look better and the watch itself holds its value far better.

The 40mm looks great on you! Another vote for the larger size from me.
